I was on lyrica for neopathic (spelling?) pain before i came out it was aproved for fibro so dr increase my dosage and had to back off some but I believe it has helped some but I know I could eat constantly so have to watch it donaP

i started less than two weeks ago seems to be working for the neurothy part better cant really tell yet . just will have to wait and see.

A girl in my fibro meet up group was in the clinical trail for it and likes it

PLS read up on this Med. it has side effects u don't see right off ,but as u keep taking it u will see what it does it has many side affects,and i took it for over month or so. can decide for uself.It wasn't one i could use.

lyrica did nothing for my pain. Lyrica gave me a headache/migraine if i took more than 50 mg in a day.

I was on it alittle over a month. I had no improvement with the pain (not on long enough for a higher dose yet) and gained a ton of weight.

It is so true that some meds work for some and not others, if your doc is reccomending you try it, ask for some samples and give it a try. When I first started taking it I did have a loopy kinda high for a few days ,then I had lots more energy and felt much better. After a month,I began to have headaches that increased daily in intensity and began to have heart palpitations...so they took me off the med and poof..it went away.Be sure to keep your doc aware of any changes you experience whenever you start a new med..good luck.

There is a new drug coming out maybe by early summer of 2008. It is called Milnacipran. It did quite well in the blind tests. I am a bit leary of Lyrica cause I hear nothing but negative things about it on DS, sue

i go back to the doctor friday and was thinking about asking to try it, like many others here all the other stuff makes me feel wierd, bad or worse. so we will try it together and see what happens,, keep our fingers, toes, eyes and anything else crossed for it to work, lol ,,,easy hugs

If you read the posts again, not all are negative. There are some positive ones too. I don't think that just because someone or some people have had a bad experience with it, that it should keep us from trying it. Fact is, it helped enough people for the FDA to approve it for Fibro. Fact number 2, it's helping a lot of people, including myself. As one person said, lots of people don't stay on it long enough or are not taking a high enough dose. It's taken my pain level to almost zero, and it's important that people know that it does help some people significantly. You could be one of them. Good luck, I hope you at least try it.

I was taking 300 mg Lyrica. I am no longer on it. Here are and were my results

First week or two side effects for me were: numbness of my head and extremeties...brain fog (much worse) nausea, sleepy, IBS was worse etc. It did take a great majority of my pain away.

Then the major side effect happened for me....I became violent (uncontrolled violence) and suicidal and was put into the hospital because of it.....that is a rare side effect. Due to this I can no longer take Lyrica.

As with all drugs talk with your doctor for everything works different for everyone else. It is as with any drug Trial and Error!

My biggest fear is that they will not give us the other meds now even if they help.I think the drug company is the one pushing for this and obviously it does not work for every one. marilyn
