Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
After my post last night, my head started hurting and my body was real sore and stiff.. today isn't a good day and all I want to do is sleep. I try not to let this fibro get in between my daughter and I..how do you balance?
Shannon: I don't have any children of my own (although we are starting to discuss when we want to start...and I'm a bit freaked about how I'd deal w/being pregnant and having fibro...but that's a whole other topic...), so I'm not certain how helpful my advice is.
But wrt managing my symptoms to deal w/work and other things I need to take care of, I try to make myself ignore that I'm in pain (with varying levels of success...hehe). When I'm having a very bad day, I'll take periodic breaks to breathe deeply (like what you do in yoga class) to calm myself down. I also do a lot of positive thinking (e.g. telling myself over and over that the pain isn't that bad, I can do whatever it is I need to do)...and after a bit of that I seem to have a better handle on it. I also listen to a lot of up-beat music -- right now my fibro-fav is Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger". :)
