Good Luck
I went through I period with these "fibro hugs." Such a strange thing.
My doctors attributed it to pinched nerves in my spine. Of course that is because they didn't believe in Fibromyalgia. But, anyway, I got them pretty regularly for about 1 year, but now I have not experienced one for about 2 years. Don't know why. Still have the Fibro, and the pinched nerves.
Come to think of it, to try to support my back I purchased one of those long back support corsets. The kind you can get from Kohl's. It felt like I was being hugged the whole time I was wearing it. It was subtle, but I do think it helped a little.
Just in case you are interested here is a link to the kind of corset I am talking about:

I bought a massager but it has the soft massage and there are others that hold water and you can either put the massage pad in the freezer or microwave and slide it back into the massage cushion part it also has a lighter plu g if you do not use water. For long distances I use it frozen and then it still is comfy as it thaws. I has never leaked. I paid 89.00 at canadian tire. they also have at home outfitters. good luck take your meds before you travel at least 45 minutes before you start, take a large pillow to put under your legs too. Good luck. isabee
The inner fibers that surround your rib cage become inflamed thus causing pain.
There are stretches (super gentle) and breathing techniques you can do to help you through this.
But I've found that standing in the hottest shower for as long as possible is what helps the most. Then, while in the shower, stretch and take some deep breaths to stretch from the inside.
Oh and I use the SalonSpa's pain patches. Cut to form and I usually have several on at a time. I can't handle the Tiger balm, but it's great to hear that it's working for you.
Storms, and stress tend to bring on mine attacks. Or when I have poor posture.
As for the bra situation....double up on some tanks w/ the build in bras. Or switch to a comfort bra (not a sports bra) but the Genie kind if you can.
Wish you luck through all of this! Hopefully it will subside by the time your vacation comes around.
