I recently posted a link to a picture Ive come across on Pinterest showing what a Fibromyalgia patient would look like if their condition was visible. Its kind of shocking but I thought it might help some of us to see our pain acknowledged.

I thought Id also include some other Fibro-related images that Ive come across on Pinterest; the second set of links are more cheerful. Id love to hear what anyone thinks about them whether you can relate or even if you disagree with any and Id also love to see any you may have found if youd like to leave me a link.

Characters Who Inspire Me ... maybe you can relate too?
1) Lisbeth Salander from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, a strong woman who has had to overcome physical challenges and pain: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/444237950713698842/
2) Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, who wanted to learn to swordfight like her brothers. Her instructor taught her that there is only one god, the god of death. Whenever the god of death comes for her she must always tell him, Not today! This is the kind of attitude I need to have about my health issues that they will never defeat me.

3) Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill. Though her feats were unrealistic, she definitely experienced pain and atrophy. In the scene pictured here, she has woken from a coma after 4 years and is unable to use her legs. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/444237950713756908/
4) This is Melusine, a mythological faerie who was cursed to turn into a snake/fish from the waist down every Saturday. When transformed, she spent the day soaking in a tub. When her husband insulted her condition she turned into a dragon and flew away. This reminds me a lot of what its like to have Fibro. Its like a curse people dont understand, our capabilities differ depending on the day, and its soothing to be in water. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/444237950714585743/

Thanks for posting this. After looking at everyone of them I came away with four thoughts:
#1 - Some were excellent
#2 - Some were great
#3 - Some were good
#4 - Some made me feel worse
When I feel particularly bad I look through these and they help me feel less alone, that my struggles are recognized, and that they're not my fault.
I think the links under Humour are the least likely to make anyone feel worse.
