I'm about to turn 65 and still have most of my teeth. I even still had my wisdom teeth up until I was 35 and had to have them pulled in order to make room to straighten my teeth with orthodonture.

I have one bridge and one additional crown - other than that they're all mine and I rarely have a cavity.

I haven't had any problems with fibro affecting my teeth. But I'm not saying it can't. Fibro has had some strange effects on people.

I don't have any issues with my teeth that I'm aware of, but my teeth tend to ache due to TMJ and the fact that I grind my teeth.

I don't have tmj and I don't grind my teeth but I have had pain around a tooth. I would think something was wrong, had catscans with dye the whole,works and nothing. It wasn't my sinuses either that can cause teeth pain.

We have tenderpoints that van transfer pain to other parts. Now when I have facial pain or teeth pain I will wait and eventually it goes away. I do stretch my neck and use heat and it helps.

I DON'T KNOW HOW FIBROMYALGIA EFFECTS TEETH BUT I HAD SOME WORK DONE ON MY TEETH. IT WASN'T BAD AT FIRST BUT I HAD A LOT OF WORK DONE. THE WORST WAS FIRST THE DENTIST FILLED ONE MY MOLARS. I HAD A LOT OF PAIN AFTER. IT WAS HITTING A NERVE. SHE FINALLY HAD TO PULL IT. THAT WAS THE WORST PAIN. I WENT A FEW MORE TIMES. ONE OF MY TEETH IS A TEMPORARY TOOTH. IT WAS GOING TO TAKE ABOUT AND HOUR AND A HALF TO TWO HOURS TO FIX THE TOOTH. IT'S VERY HARD FOR ME TO KEEP MY MOUTH OPEN WITHOUT A LOT OF PAIN. MY ISN'T BOTHERING ME RIGHT NOW SO I HAVEN'T BEEN BACK.
I REALLY DON'T KNOW THE EXACT EFFECT FIBRO HAS ON TEETH BUT THAT WAS MY EXPERIENCE. IF I HADN'T BROKEN CAP IN THE FIRST PLACE I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE GONE. I HOPE THINGS WORK OUT GOOD FOR YOU.

I thought I was alone, my teeth hurt everyday and my dentist says they are in well above average shape for my age,46. I assumed it was fibro. I would have the root checked further though.

I have TMD and it causes a lot of problems. Everything from the predictable painful jaw, to neck and shoulder pain, pain in my chest to painful scalp and headaches every day, greeting me every morning. Good luck. I have even talked to me dentist about pulling all my teethht, which are in good shape, considering all that is wrong with me.

Marsharbel, I know you're in pain, but it may not be a good idea to have all your teeth pulled. My dad had all of his teeth pulled and he really regretted it. The dentures were a pain to deal with that he wouldn't have had if he'd kept his teeth. I have a nerve coming from my neck into one of my teeth that I think is causing me problems, but I've been doing a lot of work at home and with my chiropractor on my neck, so I think it's under control. Hope you all get relief soon.

Two crowns as part of a TMJ therapy adjustment of my bite, since which I've had low to no TMJ issues and all my own teeth still in my own head at 43. I tend to get worse stress headaches b/c of the fm, but the teeth are okey-dokey on me.

I am a dental health care professional. Fibromyalgia can affect the muscles and soft tissues in the face, TMJ joint, head and neck. Many of us have TMJ problems and tooth grinding and clenching(who wouldn't with all this pain?) We also have a lot of dry mouth syndrome from the autoimmune component, as well as our medications, that can lead to rampant decay, and also gum issues. Our fibro pain can mimic dental pain as well.
