You mentioned carrots; that was actually propaganda from world war II, they had a lot of carrots for the soldiers so they told them it helped with night vision.
All fruits and vegetables do help, as do fish oils. Plaque in the arteries can effect eye sight as well.
FM could very well be your culprit. I have terrible night vision now. When I first started taking Lyrica I couldn't drive, or walk up stairs, I couldn't even watch tv, because it was fuzzy and I had double vision, the two tv's i saw overlapped each other. Took a few weeks and a lowering of my dose to stop that. Still always feel like I get a glare from everything.
Hope you figure out the cause, but you are right the eyes are pretty important so you need to take care of them.
i am on the computer more now so I try and remind myself to look away in to the distance now and again, they say that is good eye care as monitors are hard on the eye.
