Wish I knew, maybe a blood panel.
As MagicPill said, maybe it is chronic fatigue syndrome. It often goes hand-in-hand with fibro. I am going to ask my rheumy when I see him again in a couple of weeks.
Also, have you ever had a sleep study? Many people with fibro have sleep disturbances of different types.
I hope you find an answer! Take care.
I have a more extreme version of what you have explained. My sleepiness has gotten so bad that I can drift off while driving, at stop lights, in the middle of conversations etc...
I might suggest calling your PCP or Rheumy sooner rather than later and perhaps asking for a sleep study.
I wish I knew to ask for one much earlier...then maybe my symptoms would never have gotten so severe, as it is my sleep study is not until July 19th.
I have learned over time that it is much better to be pro active, even if it seems you are over reacting a little, than to take the 'wait and see' approach'
Best, LuLu
My fatigue is very similar to yours. After process of elimination my Dr. has decided it's just part of fibro & prescribed me Nuvigil. From what I understand, it's normally used in narcolepsy to help keep you awake during the day. I'm willing to try anything at this point but, I still believe it is CFS and will get a 2nd opinion on the diagnosis.
Hopefully my experience w/ this can help you, if only in a small way. (Hugseez)
Meanwhile, be careful on what medications you are cutting down on and how. There are medications that have to be cut down in very specific ways to avoid serious side effects. Be sure to consult your doctor or at least the pharmacist.
While you wait for the sleep study, if you have a smart phone, consider an app. Mine charts my deep, light sleep, and wake ups. It is very helpful. One morning that I was exhausted I found that I had awakened 5 times even though I remembered only one. So, that day I took a nap as soon as possible. Explained the mystery.
He also told me to eat dark chocolate, which I love anyways :)
