Even in Canada where our services are free we get treated like you have the plague. I worked in the hospital for 15 years I tried to break the cycle. I know the people enjoyed having a caring nurse, but when I am on the other side it drives me nuts. I used to not say anything about working as a nurse, but found out I get better service if I do say. Then I feel guilty for the next person who knows no one.it is wrong and when I spoke to the supervisors she said okay we'll treat you like joe blow okay. That was stupid . You can't wait either way and our waiting times for tests are months or years.isabee
I am so sorry you are having a tough time finding a caring medical support team.

And I've seen a few doctors who were rude to me because I had pain. What? How stupid is that? Aren't they supposed to help relieve pain?
I have had to change doctors a few times. Right now I have one who is very kind and understanding. He is aware of fibro and he tries to help ease the pain.
I wonder why so many doctors are so rude about fibro? What is their issue, anyway?
I've been treated badly by nurses, doctors, lab techs and even got a pissy tech when I was having an ultrasound when I told her she was hurting me and I'm not much of a complainer. I can't imagine how someone emotionally delicate would handle that situation. That kind of treatment can really break someone down.
I saw a web site a few years ago where people in the medical field were making jokes about people with FM and they were not very nice.
Someone asked recently if we were embarrassed by having this diagnosis and most people said no, but I don't think that's the truth when we don't even want to tell people we have it.
