I have had to go to the ER 3 times since Dec 28 and I am not happy about it at all. I have to be super duper bad to go to the ER. First and second time was because my lungs were so bad from the flu and bronchitis. If the first Dr would of listened to me and given me antibiotics and a short course of steroids there wouldn't have been a second visit.
Yesterday I went to the ER after being awake all night with extreme spasms and pain in my left ribs - I couldn't even dress myself - the kind of spasms that make you scream with any movement. My pain meds and flexeril wasn't working and neither was ice and biofreeze. I called my Drs office 1st and they thought the ER could do more for me since the pain and spasms were so acute. I have chronic costochondritis - but this was ridiculous.
I actually got a very nice Dr - a good change because the one I saw the second ER visit was a real asshole. So they did a chest xray and an EKG- chest x ray was improved from last visit and EKG was normal. They gave me Diluadid IM and 5 mg of Valium for spasms. I wasn't real impressed with Valium but it is working more today. They sent me home with an increased dosage of Percocet and Valium and I am following up with my Dr this Tuesday.
My alcoholic husband that I am separated from calls at 2:30 in the morning after he had been drinking after work and says maybe our 17 yr old son should come live with him because I have been nothing but ill since he moved out. REALLY. My husband works long hours on second shift - he would never be home when my son is and he is so far into his alcoholism he cant take care of himself. So I hung up on him instead of listening to his nonsense any further. So then he calls my son and tries to convince him to live with him - my son doesn't want to live with him and was glad when he moved out.
This turned out to be a huge vent - I guess everyone needs to vent once in awhile.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

I'm glad you finally got a good ER doctor. I hope you can rest and those spasms let up. So sorry about all that you're going through with your husband. I've been there and it isn't fun. At least your son is old enough to see things as they are. You might have to send all your calls straight to answering machine or service so that you can rest.

I had to go 2 times in less than a week for migraines. My ex is also a real SOB. I'm glad your son is old enough to make his own decisions. Sorry you have so much going on right now.
