I haven't but I just drove my friend to the dentist yesterday to get a toothache taken care of. The dentist told her that her problems with her teeth were caused from dry mouth cause by her medications. So you really need to get treated for the dry mouth or it will cause severe problem with your teeth. He told her to get the dry mouth tooth paste and mouth wash from walmart or any pharmacy.

I had this issue from the Tramadol, and other pain meds I suspect. Vikkii's friend's advice is good. I wish someone had told me years ago, because I have had so many root canals from brittle teeth, in part caused by dry mouth from the meds. Good luck :)

Biotene products are available over the counter. These are the products specifically for dry mouth issues no matter the cause. I would also suggest you ask your doctor to do the blood test for sjogrens syndrome. Most likely the dry mouth and cracked tongue is a result of your meds, but many sufferers of FMS also have an auto immune disorder. I take too many meds for a person of my age, and suffer dry eyes, dry mouth, and dry lips so I drink a lot all day, use Restasis for my eyes and will be getting the biotene products as soon as I'm able.

i use the vicks breezers for dry mouth. its by the company that makes the cough drops but they are for dry mouth...and they taste pretty good too. they work for me. its not a permanent solution, but its good while im trying to talk at work...

Just finished FOURTEEN cavities being filled from Dry Mouth Syndrome from meds and FMS. Tooth paste and mouth spray from DDS, Oasis products - mouth wash and spray, Biotene, etc. Two sisters gave up and teeth pulled and got dentures. Suggestions below are good - use all of them. Avoid mouth drops, or anything else in mouth, lips or nose with menthol - very drying.Keep water, etc to sip all day

I too take tramadol, and have dry mouth and cracking tounge,I also have really receading gums, my dentist gave me a sample of oral balance. It workes well if you can stand the slick feeling in your mouth

I am having the same problem and my teeth are even breaking from it. I can't afford a dentist right now, so I am in real trouble. I have tried all the dry mouth stuff out there. Nothing has worked for me. Mine is caused by my meds. I am not on tramadol any more, but on other meds that are causing not only dry mouth but skin so dry it has aged 10 years in the last two. So I totally relate.

I have also used the Biotene products for my dry mouth - I find the most helpful thing is to keep drinking water constantly to keep the tissues hydrated.

My dentist told me that I build up more plaque than normal (even though I brush and floss) because of dry mouth from my meds.

Maybe you have sjogren's syndrome. Its common with autoimmune issues. I was diagnosed by my rhuematologist.

I also have terrible dry mouth, Not sure if it is just from my meds or Sjogrens also (being tested for that now, as I do have lupus too). I have 3 appts in early June for fillings as my teeth are a terrible mess.

I chew alot of gum and drink tons of water, it is so bad when you want or need to talk and your mouth is nothing but dried up goop!

Does anyone know if Lyrica causes that too? I am worried about my teeth after reading these posts? I'm on Wellbutrin, Lyrica, and Temazepam. The Lyrica isn't helpin at all and I will drop it in a heartbeat if someone has had this mouth problem with it. I am thirsty all the time!!! The last thing I need is more problems! Sometimes I think thats all these drugs do. Cause something else to go wrong!
