Watch the waiting rooms. If you see a rep in the waiting room with you...waiting to see a doc.....question it.

I've always questioned my docs about meds. Do your research prior to taking it. Just because they prescribe it doesn't me you have to take it.

And remember, your doc it just a tool when it comes to better health.

YES I have seen the pusher man in the waiting room with all the free pens, calenders, clocks and stuff advertising the latest and greatest drugs he's pushing. Also the health insurance companies pay kickbacks to Drs. who do not refer patients to specialists. It's just as corrupt as the government. Always one palm greasing another. My Auntie who also has Fibro will go to the Dr. but after she reads the side effects she usually opts out of taking them. It frustrates my Uncle to no end. He says why does she go if she doesn't take the script ?

yeah when i started savella it was handed from rep to doc to min in mins =he didn't even know what it was i had to tell him & what meds i could no longer take w/it!
was ab;e to talk to rep & she told me howto take it & what ot to take!
same w/ phycitrist, had to get pharacy girl to call docs & educate them!
Dangeriuos sertonin syndrome if taken w/ tramadol,Neuortin, fentnayl or other anti's are taken w/it!

i was on all of them @ same time & was just getting sicker= blaming it on the savella!
i detoxed from everything & started over now only on savella, ambian, valuim, & norco...
but ya he gets kick backs & brownie points for scripts too!

Never bother asking the doctor if your meds are going to interfere or counteract each other, they don't know jack. The pharmacist is the only one to ask about meds, they know everything there is to know. They're a wealth of information, and if they don't know, they'll find out. I've never met a pharmacist that wasn't helpful in that area.

I DID have a rheumy who carried a laptop with her to every room, and before prescribing anything, she would put it into my list of meds, and see if it would be ok. I loved that about her. THAT was smart, and she was a smart doctor, unfortunately, I had to leave her for an unrelated issue, so I miss that, but at least there are a few docs out there with brains, ya?

If I haven't heard of the product. I won't touch it. I don't care what the doctor says. Until I have read up on it and discussed it with someone that has taken it. Then I may consider.

Aspire is correct. Only your pharmacist knows what mixes with you medications.

My former dr would only prescribe the expensive drugs for my fibro and would totally ignore me when I asked for something on the $4 generic list so I am SURE he was getting paybacks. Changed drs and new dr would go out of his way to make sure he was only giving me scripts that were on the $4 list.

If you don't take the drugs your doctor prescribes, you're marked as non-compliant and treated like you're a nutcase just looking for drugs.
