Drained and need advice

I am stressing out I had to get a CT done and found out I have an ovarian cyst as well as what appears to be a kidney cyst. My doctor told me its up to me if I want to run more tests. Apparently the one on my kidney has been there since 2011 and no one told me. I have severe depression and this is just got me super anxious and worried. I dont know what to do and would really like some advice. My doctor is really good about understanding how I am which is nice to finally have found a primary doc who takes the time to listen and understand what's going through my mind. I really just don't know if I should get the other tests run so I have a solid answer or if I just try to drop it. My fibro is acting up from all the stress and I just need guidance of what to do

I think only you knows you, and thats why your doctor said its up to you. What is going to stress you out more, having more test run, or not?

Has your doctor stated exactly what he/she would be looking for with additional test results? I've had scans done in the past which have shown cysts on my ovaries and a different time, cysts on one kidney. It's been a while, so it is not fresh on my mind, but I recall that my doctor did not feel the need for concern, in my case. It may depend on the size of the cysts...mine were small and the cysts (at least on my ovaries) have come and gone, come again and even burst.

So, if it were me, I would be asking my doctor what he's looking for with more tests and/or is there a possible concern depending on results. ((gentle hugs))

My doctor said that we could do an ultrasound but it's not a nessicary thing I just wonder if it is a cyst causing all the pain or if it's something else. I have medical field background so I overthink everything and it's one of those things it's stressing me out not knowing for sure what it all is.

see for me I wouldn't have more test done, I would just wait most of the time they go away on their own... however my mom is nothing like me and her no having more test done would stress the crap out of her, she would not be able to do anything but sit and think about them, and they would grow in her mind. thats why I said I think that only you can decide what to do. :(

The oh/gyn should do a ca125 test to check for ovarian cancer. They will do a vaginal ultrasound to check of it's growing or not.

Mine turned out to be a tumor. It's something they need to keep an eye on to make sure. Ovarian cancer is a silent killer.

Even simple ovarian cyst can cause pelvic and back pain. Please read about them.

I would ask him if it is necessary. If there testing for something specific. And try to relax. Try. :)

I've had ovarian cysts in the past. They can be painful, especially when
they burst or rupture. Really don't have any experience with cysts on the kidney. The only advice I would offer is that if it's bothering you that much, have it checked further. Just the peace of mind would make it worthwhile. I would, though, try not to worry too much in the meantime. Wishing you well with this.

Myself I would do more tests to be sure then I can relax , cysts are a lot of times non- malignant! & easy to resolve. But you know what is best for you! XXOO
