Hi, I am almost at the upper limit of pre-diabetes and will have Type II in a year or so. Only possible remedy is to lose some weight (I am a little bit flabby, but not over 25 BMI). Oh, and exercise more.
So I did 45 minutes to an hour every day this week, instead of a half hour maybe 4x a week. I was so fatigued that I had 3 days of pure brain-deadness (another of my fibro worst symptom). As for dieting, I am trying to curb my eating after dinner. I think this all will be a slow process.
I have family issues: I'm older, rather isolated, live alone, and my son who lives in the same town with my grandchildren (really my joy in life) hasn't been communicative in 9 months (this is the 3rd time this has happened during 7 years), so I haven't seen my grandchildren. I overeat, I suppose, to deal with that stress.
I am going to try pleasing myself but my day peters out by 1pm. Any suggestions?
I took care of kidney patients so having Type II looming on the horizon is freaking me out.
Thanks!

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Also, carbs are easy to get rid of. I barely eat any popular carbs and am a vegetarian. Pasta? Pfft. Bread? Eh, never was a fan. So maybe just start with those two things? If you'd eat pasta, then eat raw veg in that portion instead. Bread? OK, well, I'm stumped on that one. And for sugar substitutes, stevia so far is the most sustainable I've found. No headaches, no weird tastes (you hve to buy a good brand, or you do get the aftertaste), and a little goes a looooong way, and I don't feel like my sweet-craving was denied.
OK, so I had some ideas, but this is just how I live. My mom was big on nutrition in her nursing career, it rubbed off, LOL!
Take care.
Susan
I don't know when I got into this eat-another-meal after dinner. But surely it is an unhealthy pattern.
