After reading so many posts here and listening to others talk about fibro, I was wondering...Does having fibro make one more likely to get other health issues. The IBS, Chronic Fatigue, osteo porosis etc and things like flu and other viruses?
If so, is there a way I can help protect my daughter from all/any/some of these? She is so young and I would hate to look back in 10 years and wish I had done something differently.

maybe there's more to her diagnosis. Or do you feel you maybe doing too much for her. If she lived on her own she would have to push herself more as awful and challenging it is.
I hope you get the best physician help your daughter needs. Get to the best specialists out there where you live. Or if you need to travel to find one I would if money/insurance allows.

There are things people with fibro are more prone to get - but not everyone with fibro gets them.
I am not able to be as active as I would like to be - my fibro has always been severe. Your daughter does need some activity everyday - even walking around in the yard is better than nothing. I move about the house, do dishes and laundry most days, make dinner every day and get out in the yard when it is warm enough - and often that is my limit - because of the pain and fatigue . I am hoping to start short walks as the weather gets better if my hip will tolerate it - right now my hip problems have flared up.
Daily stretching is good too.
Milily - she tries to do a little each day, trying to push to the edge of what is possible without going backwards. She has been moving around a lot more today so it looks as though the vitamins etc are working.
I am glad you joined our group and I respect how you are trying to learn more and that you are taking care of your daughter. Seriously, there are people that wouldn't. Plus, many families of people with fibro don't believe in it or just cant or wont get it and it leads to separation of family - which is very sad..
Has your daughter had blood work that checks Vit D, thyroid levels, and B 12 - those being abnormal can make fatigue worse . You had told me you were planning and asking her Dr about CFS next appt - so let us know what you find out.
