If you have a good doc that will RX them, you are lucky to have a partner in this terrible syndrome :)
If I were taking too many pain meds they might make me fuzzy, but I don't and pain meds don't affect my thinking abilities at all.
Walgreens is the worst place to get pain med prescriptions filled so if you can go anywhere else do. They had to pay an $80 million fine so I would be surprised if you could get meds there at all.

OK, so some RX pain killers are making it on to the streets and black market...this is bound to happen other RX meds make it on to the black market to like Viagra etc...
Statistically, people who take pain meds as directed and for the sole purpose the med was RX'd for do not become emotionally dependent on the med-they may need to taper off to avoid so physical symptoms, but after tapering they experience no cravings.
The Gov't is spending too much time on cracking down on RX meds when drugs like Meth, Heroin, and cocaine cross our borders every single day...the gov't has lost sight of the big picture, and people -fibro, cancer, AIDS, people in hospice are suffering b/c of it.
just my opinion...
(laurjil-don't think you were the bummer-no worries)
Just seems that the topic was about someone feeling guilty about taking pain meds and we were all trying to make her feel better about it, then someone comes along and says they are so addicting, blah, blah, blah...
If you take your meds responsibly as your doctor ordered you will not have that problem.
I also think it is ridiculous for someone to be worried about being addicted. If you need them you need them whether they are addictive or not. If you decide to go off them one day you can wean off just like SSRIs. People say their not addictive but try getting off one.
Please don't feel guilty for taking them and don't let anyone make you feel like you're in the wrong for doing so.
Thank you for your replies. As long as the Norco works for me and gives me a little relief, I am going to stay on them without worry. From what others go through with pain relief, I am thankful I have a nice doctor who will help me.
