I have had very successful treatment so far with a low dosage of gabapentin (Neurontin), stretching, hot baths and resting as soon as I feel my muscles tightening. I also found my "magic sleep number," so to speak, in that I need between 8 and 9 hours of actual sleep in order to be able to move. This usually means I have to be in bed for at least 2 hours before I drop off to sleep for a total of 10 or 11 hours of rest each evening. Ditto for me on dropping things, balance issues, and just fine motor control problems in general.
I have Trouble keeping my balance and I drop things.
So yes.

I have a chronic lower back issue and discovered sleeping on side w/ top leg bent way up and bottom leg kept straight helps. Every time I wake I switch to the other side and do tjust reverse my legs.
Maybe you've already tried something like that.
