Do I sound like I am exaggerating, or does anyone else have these same problems?? I am not exaggerating!!! I wish I was!!!
Milily, I have read your comments, and we've even discussed things together b/fore, and I wanted to tell you, our granddaughter has a new puppy, named Milly, and I keep calling her milily instead, I think it's kinda funny, although no-one else in the family gets the joke... I wanted to 'share it with you' I do not do it on purpose,it's just another example of fibro-fog or mis-crossed wiring!! LOL Oh yeah, the tub, or even exercise pool is doubly worse.... pain-wise....., favorite, this probably didn't help, except to let you know it is part of our 'normal'
I have the same issues with the shower and feeling exhausted afterwards. I think it's from the "effort" from actually showering and the water temperature. Too warm, and I get weak and nauseated. I obviously still have to wash, so the only solution is to make my water just a bit cooler.
I learned my lesson after I got dizzy and fell out of the shower one day. My family said, "Lots of people fall in the shower. But only YOU would fall OUT of the shower." LOL
I have always had a sensitivity to "hot" so my showers are mostly lukewarm (no steaming up the bathroom like most) & for the last 3 to 4 years everytime I take my shower my back will be hurting worse when I finish than before I start.
When I finish the fun part begins, I towel off then have to take a break, then I will usually break into a sweat so I have to let that pass before I can begin to dress & often I will break into another sweat while putting on my clothes.
Some days I just dread doing the shower thing!
I was thinking maybe at the end of the day i am tired and my heart is not up to function it too is sooo tired..showering is difficult
I am planning to take more baths...but it is just in the planning stages...
thanks for asking..this website has been so helpful...it's making me think of new ways to take care of me...
Many seniors say they are exhausted after "bath day" and I can completely relate!
I found this article on the net. The research is very old 2001, but this article itself was posted in 2011. I am so interested to see if they've done any further research but am too tired, brain foggy ATM to Perdue it. It's a long read, but quite interesting in how it related to us and alllll we go thru re:showers, standing, muscle weakness etc.

I found it informative, but it raises some further questions I and I'm sure many others would like answered! Oh the endless search for answers! Take care folks, Musta
I am stunned to read that several of you get sweaty after a bath/shower. That happens to me, too, but I had been blaming it in menopause (even though I'm well 'through' it). My doctor had told me that some folks never really get through it. I had only recently been wondering about the involvement of FMS in this kind of sweating and read somewhere that our temperature systems are flawed, too. So I guess that the sweating is yet another fibro-related situation.
I also get very tired after a bath or shower and have to lie down. I just walk into the bedroom, thrown the towel on the bed and lie down in front of the fan to stop the out of control heater inside my body. I never use really hot water either, not even in the winter, because of this sweating.
I also get really sweaty sometimes for no reason that I can tell. I was once in a class and just starting sweating like crazy, it was dripping off me. People thought I might be having a heart attack. I just smiled and started spraying my face with a water bottle. So aggravating that we can never get a break.
