hi everyone
my uncle (mom's younger bro) passed away yesterday morning. we were all shocked because he was doing better. but turns out he had lung cancer and didn't tell anyone. when the nursing home called yesterday i guess they thought we knew about the cancer. mom and her youngest bro, uncle Brian, are deciding to cremate him with no autopsy and no funeral. nobody can afford to fly out to PA to have a funeral. so they are sending the ashes to his best freind Jimmy. and maybe they will have a funeral in the spring to cast his ashes over the county he lived in.
in other news
i went to my cardiology appt yesterday for tachycardia. they can't find anything wrong with my heart so they are blaming my meds. they are sending me back to my primary care and telling her to change my asthma meds and get me off the effexor. that's the part i didn't want to hear. when i miss a dosage i get sick, i can't imagine getting off the effexor! especially since it has helped the pain a lot. dreading this... . who here has gotten off effexor and what was it like?
also had my 1st mammogram yesterday. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. and this afternoon i gotta go to the dentist (i'd rather walk on hot coals).
well thanks for takin time to read this. thanks for anyone who responds about the effexor question. you all are freakin awesome! i gotta get ready to head out to the dentist so i'll come check on you all in a few hrs. XOXO

Ahhhh Efexor..... I am coming off it at the moment, yurk!!!!
I've been on it for about 4-5 years. Been reducing over the last 12 months. I know what you mean about missing a dose - nightmare city.
Anyways, my suggestion is to do it really really slowly, not in like two weeks or so, as they tell you. Depends on your dose and if they're going to give you a replacement too. PM me if you want more info.
Dentist - ha - peice of cake - I'd rather be there than a lot of other places, lol. Hope you're ok. xoxo

i'm back from the dentist now and i just spent $691 for a crown (gold) on one of my molars. i have to go back to them in about 2 weeks to get the actual gold one. the reason why i hate the dentist so much is because they always tell me i need work done. there's always SOMETHING wrong with my teeth somewhere and i'm sick of it! i brush the way i'm told, floss, don't really eat sweets, etc. but somehow my teeth are always bad. my front teeth have been thru so much that by the time i'm 30 i will probably need implants or partial dentures!! i'd rather go and get more of those nasty spinal injections than keep getting work on my teeth!!!

I rather love the dentist.. I love getting them cleaned.. hate when they pick ya to death.. but feel and look better when your done.. I need soooo much work done.. but to expensive..
I have never been on that drug... like any drug going to be hard to come off that.. and esp since it helped you... geez... hope everything goes well hun.. (( big hugs)).... :)
