hi everyone
my uncle (mom's younger bro) passed away yesterday morning. we were all shocked because he was doing better. but turns out he had lung cancer and didn't tell anyone. when the nursing home called yesterday i guess they thought we knew about the cancer. mom and her youngest bro, uncle Brian, are deciding to cremate him with no autopsy and no funeral. nobody can afford to fly out to PA to have a funeral. so they are sending the ashes to his best freind Jimmy. and maybe they will have a funeral in the spring to cast his ashes over the county he lived in.
in other news
i went to my cardiology appt yesterday for tachycardia. they can't find anything wrong with my heart so they are blaming my meds. they are sending me back to my primary care and telling her to change my asthma meds and get me off the effexor. that's the part i didn't want to hear. when i miss a dosage i get sick, i can't imagine getting off the effexor! especially since it has helped the pain a lot. dreading this... . who here has gotten off effexor and what was it like?
also had my 1st mammogram yesterday. it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. and this afternoon i gotta go to the dentist (i'd rather walk on hot coals).
well thanks for takin time to read this. thanks for anyone who responds about the effexor question. you all are freakin awesome! i gotta get ready to head out to the dentist so i'll come check on you all in a few hrs. XOXO

I have not been on effexor, so I can't offer anything with that regard.
I hope your dentist appt goes well. I, too would rather walk on coals. I know that feeling.

Sorry for the loss of your Uncle.
I have been on Effexor, and started to gain weight. I was on it for a while, maybe a year or so (I can't recall exactly).....But I don't remember anything significant when I went off it.
But best always, to have your doc monitor it.......Hugs, Debbie
I'm so sorry about your uncle. I'll keep you and your family in our prayers.
And it's so hard when funerals are so expensive. My aunts hubby's family lost his nephew and because no one had any money to put forth for a funeral, they used his other uncles plot as he was cremated too. Apparently you can put two on one plot sort of deal.
I'm also battling with the whole asthma/achy chest thing too. I'm planning on getting back to the asthma docs to see if I can't get it under control. I'm blowing yellows & reds on my flow meter. I know it's bad.

Good Luck at the dentist and glad nothing was wrong with your heart. Sounds like me go to one specialist to another before excepting its fibro.

I an so sorry to hear about you uncle. My sincerest condolences to you and your family!! And I agree with you I would rather walk on hot coals then going to the denist to!! Also, hope that you had a good dentist appointment this afternoon. I see my dentist on Monday afternoon to get the stitches out. I have been eating soft food since Monday afternoon and it will feel good to go back and eat regular food on Monday.
