anyone else got degenerative disc disease? gosh... i must say the combo w/ fibro is bad chemistry. agree?
i've had 5 spinal steroid injections done in my lower back (L5-S1) but the degeneration continued to grow upward a couple more dics. and then i had 2 more spinal shots done in the neck (C6-C5 i think). cuz they found DDD in the neck too. the shots helped me walk a lot better over the few years, i must say. and i've also had chiropractor treatments done (a few months a year) since 04. works wonders for the stiffness.
what things have you tried?
anyways... yesterday i had a ROM (range of motion) done at the chiro clinic, to see if i've improved since last months treatments. anyone had one? those HURT!!!! back in 05 my ROM forward at the waist was 33 deg MAX! yesterday it measured 45! i can't remember what the backward bend was, i think it was like 10 deg.
i came there having a pretty good pain day, it was like a 5. After the ROM, it was a 6.5! this morning i woke up and it felt like a 2x4 steel beam had hit me from the mid back down!! i can hardly move at all! it's a high 7 on the verge of an 8 on the pain scale. has an ROM ever effected anyone this way? like i said, fibro and ddd are one bad combo! so this morning i just been doin the penguin walk.... but i still gotta go get a hair cut, go to the bank, and take my mom grocery shopping! Lord help me....

I don't think I have it as bad as you, but I do know what you're talking about that it stinks having it with FM. My pain med does a very good job of keeping the FM under control, so I'm doing much better on the whole then a year ago.
c-4-7 are bulging out & misaleigns l7 & pops out right hip & make left leg shorter!
which causes great pain in my neck stactic nerve & arms & hands numb all the time w/ sharp eletritric pain in no given ryhm or reason!
I have had 2 of the lumbar steroid injections. Will not do that again.
Range of motion tests are the same for me as running the vacume. Can't walk for the next 2 days.
