Hello everyone,
Our son who is 18 just left for work. It was 3:20 p.m. here. He had stayed the night at a friend's house and had just come home to shower and get ready for work. He seemed upset about something so I finally got it out of him that he is upset that his dad and I are still in our pj's and it is so late in the day. We had gone out last night and didn't get to bed until 2:00 am and I couldn't sleep until 5:00 am because the waiter accidentally gave me caffeinated coffee. So, I didn't get up until noon today. We had planned to be lazy today, I read and play on the computer while hubby reads book I got him for Christmas.
A lot of weekends we don't get showered and ready to get out of the house until 2:30 or so, but wind up staying up until 1:00 am or so. I actually feel better in the afternoon and night time. Mornings are my worst. I am sick and in my pj's 3 days a week because of Methotrexate shots. But, I make myself get up by 10 am every day and I have a cup of coffee and take my pills and eat a cookie or piece of fruit. Then around noon I fix a bowl of cereal and take more pills. Well, he said it bothers him that it seems like a routine now that I am just eating my cereal when he comes home for lunch.
My hubby enjoys sleeping in on the weekend. He has a very stressful job during the week and also has to do things I cannot do and takes care of me. So, he is tired by the time the weekend rolls around. He also suffers from low energy levels. So, he will get up on weekend mornings and not get into the shower until early afternoon on Saturday and we both may not shower on Sundays and just stay in our pj's. We always kept Sundays as family day. Our son is the only child left, so we don't have family day as often because he has other plans with friends or has to work.
Do any of you stay in your pj's during the week or on the weekends? What about your spouses? I know a lot of people with these illnesses cannot even get out of bed at all. There are many days that I force myself out. I can only take a shower 3, maybe 4, times a week now. It is just too painful and tiring. If it weren't for my kids, I doubt I would get dressed as often or go out as often as I do now. I force myself to get out of the house on the weekend (some weekends aren't so bad). It is good for me to feel "normal." Even if we just go out to the movie and dinner.
This really is getting to me today. I wish I had my energy back, my old self back, so I could run around and do stuff like I used to and not be a concern to my son.
Is there really something wrong to want to laze around on a weekend anyway? LOL!

I stayed in my PJs all day yesterday, and do so lots of "down" days...like you, I sometimes don't have the energy to shower, dress, etc, and figure it's fine if I'm staying home, right? No worries, you're entitled!! :)

if my husband and I want to lay around all day...we DO...he gets a rare day off...and we sometimes just hang out in the bed the entire day...our buisness !!
I am in my jammies unless i NEED to go out...there are days when I simply shower...and put on Fresh jammies !! someone does not Like it ?? Oh Well !! I am ALL Grown up now...don't feel the Need or Desire to explain myself to ANYONE !! I did Not do this at 18, 28, or even 38...but I do it NOW...and thats OK with Me !!

Hubby likes his flannel pants, too.Keeps them on much of the day, if he feels like it.
