I am using cyclobenzaprine at night at bedtime. It relaxes my muscles so that when I turn over I don't wake up from the pain. I use only 5mg so it must be pretty strong to work as well as it does!

Hi Doug! I was on flexeril for a while & when I took it in conjunction with my vicodin, I'd notice a improved difference... helping my pain releif last longer.. BUT, I have other ailments other than fm, and I was experiencing some swelling & kidney problems that the dr's arent' sure which autoimmune disease was causing it.. However, it all started around the same time I started taking the flexeril, so I stopped it out of fear that could possisbly have been the problem, really don't know.. So I switched to Soma, a muscle relaxer as well.. I still prefer the Flexeril by far!!

It relaxes all of my muscles except for my heart, it makes it beat faster so I can't sleep after I take the medicine. weird I know.

I toke "flexril" four years ago & as alot of us here seem to get tolerate of one drug or another & have to experiment! & have to try something else!

I take it one hour before bed w/a zyprexia & ambian. Have been waking up last two mornings w/very little pain & no numbness in hands. Also have been sleeping on my back nestled in between pillow on ea side so it is hard for me to move w/out moving pillows & i don't remember getting up thru out night!

she thought the post might be of help to us NEWBIES!

Been using it almost 20 yrs. for those jumpy-jolts at bedtime. Sometimes works better if combined with Nuprin. Very helpful for me. Mixes nicely with klonopin, Wellbutrin, SSRIs. Not so good with Ambien.

four yrs ago i was taking the wellbutrin @ bed....
The doc now has me taking 150mg in day time!

So again this last week,I have been kinda up down, so really can't pin point which one or all is helping.... but have been waking up in less pain almost relaxed & not in fatique!

yes, misunshine, i find its always best to give people the benefit of the doubt before jumping to conclusions like DDntn did. i saw the person write 'hi doug' and i just carried on reading, i would never have made an issue of it. grumpy grumpy. maybe its just halloween =)

btw the reason i bumped it today was because i referred to it in another thread - someone was asking about it. i clicked on the drug name, and was taken to the drug's page on DS, where there are links to old threads. obviously DS wants old threads to be brought up again. and why not, they hold valuable info. saves reinventing the wheel.

misunshine, just want to add that i've only just worked out that you might have been confusing this thread with another one in which you felt attacked by someone. i have no idea about that, i wasn't here. all i know is that it was me who brought up this thread today, for the reason i describe above.

I had no problems with flexeril it just did not help. I was only on it for a short time.

I used Flexeril and it did not help at all. I was never sleepy nor did I notice any relief with muscle relaxation and I was on it in various dosages over 2 years and mixed with other meds. Sorry

"Mysrty" i did not confuss this thread w/ another... was just commenting on the fact, certain members seem to monator whom posts on old post that are beniful to everyone! Seem rude that they would bring it up!
Just read on here, that three people including myself just started taking it this week! so it was a helpful aid Dr. Orrange reposted it & then you!

Back to the subject i woke again today w/no cramping & OR DEVASTING PAIN! SO MAYBE IT THE "fLEXERIL"

I've been on it for 13 years and it helps alot for muscle spasms and my restless legs too!
