Trouble is with seeing a rhuematologist is I would have to get the GP to refer me first and I am not sure how much my gp understands things like FM!
There are too many people diagnosing themselves and that is very dangerous. You could have Lupus, MS, RA, Lyme, Celiac, MPS; any number of treatable things can mimic FM.
Please ask you doctor to refer you to a Rhuemy. You can get FM at any age.
I was lucky in that I was diagnosed after about 3 months of tests by a top of the line Rhuematologist in my area. But I had never even heard of Fibromyalgia and had to even ask him to spell it so I could look it up. There was very little information on the internet then - there barely was an internet in 1997. Nobody I knew had heard of it either.
FMS has tender points--Do you have pain radiationg down from tender points on your body? for example, radiating down from your shoulders, hips, or buttom of butt area?
CFS has post exertional maliase and dysautonomia
PEM-people feel severely fatigued and flu like after exercise.
Dysautonomia--Blood vessels don't contract and dialate right so when a person stands up or sits up, the blood falls to their feet and they get dizzy and nauseous.
