Haven't been able to go to the pain clinic for months, they say I owe money but won't tell me from when or give me a bill.
Anyways the provigil might be something to talk to your doctor about to counteract the meds you are taking that make you feel exhausted. Good luck! Dawn
One thing was as simple as getting a nightguard - clenching and grinding my teeth all night was jolting me awake.
On the other hand, pain interrupts sleep too and exhausts you throughout the day to move through the pain.
I think getting your Dr to understand and take a look at your sleep is helpful. Having a sleep test explained a lot to my me and to my Dr as to how I was feeling.
I know some people find that the D-ribose can be helpful. I take it and notice a difference when I am out of it. And right now i am out of it and I am feeling extremely weak and tired. I ordered some more and can't wait for it to get here. but I can't afford to buy it all the time and I take less than what is suggested to try and make it last.
And there are all the other suggestions that people suggest. B vitamins, and eating right. but I think for most of us, even when we make these changes, it barely touches the surface for us and we struggle with the lack of energy.
Better quality of sleep may help. but I am like you I don't know. I feel I have been sleeping a little better just lately but still feel wiped out just doing the most simplest of things.
Some medicines are out there that will give you an up - like Adderall. But I don't think that is the answer for me. I just don't want to take any more prescriptions than I already have to. And taking something to give me an up and then taking something to give me a down to sleep sounds sort of like a drug addict to me.
In addition, I use medical marijuana (indica strains) on nights I can't quite get there. I live in CA
Hope this helps, and HUGS from down south :)
As far as helping with the exhaustion, Savella seemed to make the most difference. There is such a big connection between sleep, pain, and fatigue. This crazy fibro can be so different for many, yet, we all have so many similar symptoms. I know that when I see my doctor in a couple of weeks, I will be asking him for possibly increasing the dosages of my meds and for something for pain, that is not a narcotic as I can only take those at bedtime and waiting till bedtime to take pain meds makes the pain get out of control.
I hope you find something that works for your exhaustion and that you get more pain relief, also. Sleeping better may help with pain.
Take care
