Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I personally do not have those other disease (and in answer to your other question, I had a horrible case of mono as my trigger, so the Epstein Barr Virus was present in me as well.)
But with regard to your first question, one of the prevailing theories about fibromyalgia is that there are two types: Primary Fibromyalgia and Secondary Fibromyalgia. (FYI: I am not a doctor, but this is coming from a conversation I had w/my rhuemetologist a couple weeks ago.) The difference between the two is: "Primary fibromyalgia is a term given to fibromyalgia that occurs for no apparent reason whereas secondary fibromyalgia has an identifiable cause." (For more info, see: http://www.rightdiagnosis.com/p/primary_fibromyalgia/intro.htm and http://www.rightdiagnosis.com/s/secondary_fibromyalgia/intro.htm ) So people with fibro tend to have a lot of co-morbid conditions, such as the ones you described, and in some cases (where the person has secondary fibro) can be the cause of the fibro symptoms.
