a second ago while i was trying to type this, these kittens you see in the pic were climbing all over me.... i had to put em out side for now. sheez! they got some real energy!!! lol
anyways....
i was BBQing some pork ribs yesterday out on the porch (my own recipe for marinade, btw).... and i got bitten by a BIG ant. at least i think it was a big one cuz i don't have this type of a reaction when the small and black one bites.
well... i started taking benedryl (orally) because my whole foot in the past swelled up before from bug bits. i've been icing it on and off last night and today and still taking benedryl....
however, even tho the bite is on my big toe"s knuckle, pretty much the whole top of my foot, side and part of the underside is swollen. i put a steroid cream on it last night too, but it's not going down.
anyone else have bug allergies? and what the heck do you do??
BTW, i'm staying off my foot the rest of the day. the damn thing itches like hell when i take the ice off!!

when i was in florida got bit by red ants & those titzz flies broke out bad a swllon everywhere did use bendryle had to put ammonia on them, it smelled but felt so good!
And then toke plain oat meal in a wash cloth9W/RUBBER BAND) in he bath tub & scrubed everywhere! i now grind up oatmeal into powder,makle a paste & put it in hand mit! soothes any bites
Hope the swelling and itching goes away soon.
hmm... i will try the paste thing.... i hope it works, the top of my foot looks like someone punched it. it's sore like a bruise, too.
usually when i'm itchy i go to the beach and soak in the salty water... but today i don't feel like leaving the house. maybe i can put some sea salt in water and soak it here at home?
A few years ago, I got bit by a black widow on my inner thigh and it did swell. I ended up with a weakened heart. It was bad enough that my doc wanted to hospitalize me. I started taking co-Q10 soon after and now my heart is better than most my age.
Don't mess with Mother Nature, eh?
The sad thing is that they are ALL over Florida and ALL over the bus stops, where I spend half my life. So I carry Benedryl EVERYWHERE. lol.
it was just ONE bite on my foot. it's still swollen, but i forgot to put the paste on.... got caught up playing a video game yesterday with my bf. at least it took my attn off the aching red foot!
i've still been icing it on and off and not much has changed and it's now the 3rd day. i'm gonna try putting cucumber on it and see if that helps.... i also have an ALOE plant in my back yard, maybe i can cut a small peice off and try that too. and if THAT doen't work, i'm gonna try a salt soak (with sea salt). i'll try all these things before i go to the clinic. io hate Urgent Care.
It usually take a few day for me.
I feel for you blue, hope it starts to stop itching real soon, and the swelling goes down.
