I recently read "Brain on Fire" and found it fascinating. It is the true story of a young woman who suddenly seems to go crazy. It turned out to be an autosomal disease that causes inflammatory encephalitis. Here is the kicker, the nature of her condition was discovered only three years before.
THERE IS HOPE.
For others who might like to read, "Tuesdays with Morrie" was quite good and uplifting in spite of the storyline. And, I again recommend "man's Search for Meaning". Good for all in pain, of any type. Finally, if you are a science buff, the Dalai Lama's latest book, "the Universe in a Single Atom" is proving quite interesting.
BTW, I am now addicted to audiobooks that I can download from the library and listen as I do other things. Free, fun, escape!

My cousin just gave me this book when I was diagnosed! I have a long flight next month and I'm bringing it with me. I can't wait to read it! It sounds so fascinating.

I heard an interview with the author on NPR about two weeks after I had a seizure in the ER of that hospital and ended up in the same epilepsy ward. In the interview I realized I was being videoed the whole time. I kept looking at this peculiar black orb on the ceiling and wondering what it was. She was fortunate that she had family speaking up for her. I thought I could go through it without alarming my family. I don't want to read the book, though, and relive the really bad experience I had with that place. The interview was particularly illuminating for me, though.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
