It was so bad at a casino in Kansas City, visiting my aunt that she wanted to take me to the ER. I told her it was just "part of it" but she was terribly worried.
However, black outs can be very serious so I would go see the medical people until I got some answers-and probably more than just one doctors' opinion.
Let us know how it goes, as I would worry about this.
Don't ever underestimate the weird side-effects some of these meds have. We tend to be prone to the truly bizarre ones, and that could be one. Rxlist.com is a great site to check for side-effects on meds. You'll have to go to about the 4th page where you should find tables listing all the side-effects experienced during the clinical trials and afterwards.
What really pisses me off about your post is the ER Doc's suggestions. Boy what an idiot. This so-called Doc needs remedial Med school.
More Exercise?.. Get off the Meds?..Aerobics?.. She is a blooming-full-grown onion idiot that dosen't know whether to wind her butt or scratch her watch!! Print this off if you have to & take it to her. She knows absoultly nothing of which she speaks as far as fibro goes. Man these kind of doc's tick my terd. They are a major problem as far as Fibromites goes.
Sorry to rant Love, but please do not listen to her meaningless squawaking. Geez..give them a white coat & they know all.
Educate her darling, give her this website, "if" she even cares. But, do look into these midnight-bumpings. Let us know.
Sorry to rant about the idiotic-look at my pretty degree on the wall Doc.
Love.Mel
Us with Fibro also have many other coinciding diseases!
What you are describing to me sounds like it could be hypoglycemia, diabetes or "drop-attack seizures!" this is a seizure where you spontaneously loose muscle tone! Meaning your muscles go limp (any muscle anywhere in your body! Iy can cause you to sit crooked, frown allot or just fall over! Any number of things involving any number of muscles throughout your body!
You could also possibly have a sleep walking disorder!
I have hypo and seizures and I know that when my blood sugar gets low I can get dizzy and feel like I want to just pass out (go to sleep)! I get other symptoms as well!
Some of the seizures I get have also made my body feel limp and my body feel weak for no reason! Along with other symptoms! I am very happy that even though I am only 29, I do use a walking stick and this does help with the weakness and imbalanced feelings I get from the seizures and from the Fibro as well!
Take care,
Stay sane!
It could also be that your body and mind is just at the end of it's rope by the end of the day dealing with everything that goes on with this disease and the constant stress to your body from what you have!
I know there are some days where the constant stress of all the Fibro symptoms on my system can lead me to seizure!
Some days my seizures are independent of the Fibro! I don't have seizures every day! They are on a very random schedule! Some days more than others and vice-versa! Just like the random pattern of symptoms of Fibro are!
Get it all ruled in or out and let us know how it goes!
Take care,
Stay sane!
I have noticed it dosn't happen much when I'm taking the provigil like I'm supposed to for my cataplexy/narcolepsy.
I do have what I know now are called night terrors. Those are kind of freaky.
The Dr you spoke with must not to much about Fibro, or is one that thinks we are all full of it. Nothing better to do then spend our hard earned money on then or we have nothing to do.
No mater what exercisies you decide on the stretches are a must, as it sounds like you know. Some DR. And nurses just don't have there facts together and that is why God gave us common sense.
One thing that bothers me with you black outs, is many years ago it was the first sign of me getting ready to have a stroke, because I was only 21, nobody caught it. They thought maybe an enter ear infection. But before I could see the next Dr. I woke up in the middle of the night and ran into a couple walls and it happen. Have a DR. check your clotting factor just to make sure. But see a Dr. with some sense. Remember 50% of the DR.'s graduate at the head of there class but the other 50% graduate at the bottom of the class.
