Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Shop around, lay on them in your normal sleeping position for a while, try different ones. I'm happy I didn't make the impulse purchase of a foam mattress after I laid on one for a while and had back pain just from 10 minutes.
I also have an obsession with pillows on my bed, I have a big body pillow I sleep with between my knees to keep my spine in better alignment. I started this when I got pregnant many years ago and just never got out of the habit but trying to sleep without it I can definitely tell a difference.
Best wishes for getting some relief!
Hope this helps you!!
I also use 3 or 4 pillows all around to feel all snuggly!!
I also sleep with on old skinny pillow between my knees. It helps keep your pelvis in the right position and keeps my knees from touching, which was always painful. So I sleep with the pillow between my knees, splints on my arms, earplugs and a bite guard because I grind my teeth. How romantic!!!!
hmm... i will have to keep coming back to this page as i shop around.
thanks, everyone.
ps thanks for the tip about the pillows. i was just telling my mom how i really need to replace mine, since my arms keep goin numb when i lay down.
So important to find what feels good for you!! I have a Sealy...Plush, but not Pillow Top. I really like having a feather topper on it, but DH didn't soooo. I also use only super-duper comfy cotton sheets, with high thread count. And a memory foam pillow that is awesome! That pillow goes EVERYWHERE I go. (I left it at a hotel once, and actually went back the next day and had the hotel staff track it down...it had been put in the lost and found! LOL)
HUGS from down south :)

What kind of mattress should we get. Where are they located the store to try it out. Albany is the closet site
Hi Monica,L
Latex will relieve pressure points and the Sealy SpringFree River Crest ultra plush is the favorite with women. If your fibro condition is advanced and you need a softer surface than that, add a synthetic down comforter top, but don't get a softer mattress.
If you have a Raymour & Flanigan near you, you can see the River Crest there.

I also highly reccommend a mattress pad that is heated. Whenever I'm cold or in a lot of pain I can turn my side of the bed on and warm up.We also splurged and got the foundation that raises the head and foot of the bed (like a hospital bed), the only thing that's missing a big round brass ball that you turn and fly away like in the movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" LOL
