Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Always weird to start talking about yourself in general, you kind of assume no one wants to listen. But that is why i am here. I am 20 years old, when i was a sophomore in high school I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and just this past weekend got the results back that I have chronic lyme disease. In between this time i was diagnosed with so many thing, beginning with the fibro then chronic abdominal migraines, IBS, massive depression disorder, cyclic vomiting syndrome, severe head migraines, chronic fatigue system and now I am just too lazy to write the rest out. I guess the two big ones are the fibro and the lyme. I am currently in search for a place to begin my antibiotic treatment. I feel like it is never ending, i guess lyme is the first thing that actually has treatment i can seek but from what i understand I have had it for quite a few years now. In high school i was practically bed ridden for sixth months and went through all the stages of depression that ended in a suicide attempt. I have decided to join this support group because i am tired of feeling alone when I know i am not. The story feels never ending, one diagnostic after another and feeling worse with each one. Sometimes I feel like I have morphed in to a living being i don't even recognize as human, just going through the motions. I was so active, i was the captain of the volleyball team for school and travel. Now, i cannot even think of myself as active yet i continue to lose weight because i have no appetite. When i toured colleges I didn't even think I would make it to college but i did. i have great parents who support me in every way, yet i can't find a way to be happy yet go to sleep at night. I want to do every thing i can to feel better, but why is it so hard?

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

No idea why it is so hard, but I was dx'd at 25. Oh, yeah, people have no freaking clue what it's like to hear the "but young peopl edon't..." Tell that to the kids with leukemia etc... Youth doesn't protect us from health issues. We know taht here. (And find the book "Fibro for Dummies" useful for us, loved ones, you name it.)
As to diagnoses? Rule-in rule-out is *vital*. You reallllly don't want to walk around thinking you have fibro when it could be something they can do more for, or have more information about, etc. I know it's tough. I do. But hang in there, okay? As we hit our 20s, a lot of things can become much easier to figure out, if only b/c physical puberty is done and is no longer messing us up. (Biologically, puberty really is a SNAFU.)
Basically, live as healthy as you can re: diet and exercise like anyone would/should, b/c that's just common sense... and keep journals. They help us find patterns in what causes flares of pain.
Congratulations on finishing college! Woot you! That's not easy!

You've got so much going on it's no surprise you feel a 'tad' overwhelmed...I'd feel the same...you're not alone by any means. My best advice is to try and tackle each on its own, rather than everything all at once.
You're on the right track by starting to speak about how you feel about it all; listing what's going on at the moment...again, as Leo says, journalling will help you recognise patterns... It can seem daunting at the start, but you've come this far, you're already on the path, already achieved things despite what's happening, but yeah...it sucks, friend. Keep holding on.
