Hi all! So I have been MIA a bit because I received a diagnosis that has slowed me down some. After seeing a rheumatologist and the test finding " nothing" she told me that my fibro had gotten as bad as it can get and I should file for disability. But she basically refused to help me. So I went to see the NP at my GP. Turns out I was the second fibro patient that this rheumatology group refused to help. But they are the group that this hospital system uses to treat fibromyalgia! My NP was like, " I wonder how many others got the same treatment and never told me??" So she started me on a different drug protocol. Instead of taking one drug I take small doses of two right before bed because the one makes me sleepy. It seems to be helping a lot!
Anyway the rheumatologist also told me I needed to see a podiatrist because I needed insoles. Podiatrist looks at my swollen as hell ankles. Looks at my MRI. Shows me the MRI and says, " Well yes, you do have plantar fasciitis. So do more than 50 percent of people over the age of 40. I can tell you the insoles to buy off Amazon to help. They are 20 bucks a pair. But that's not your real problem. Your real problem is the deep tear in your left Achilles tendon and the tendonosis in both legs. Looking at your MRI you've had terrible leg pain for years, haven't you?"
Yes. And $20000 in out of pocket medical fees because they kept running tests for MS. And I have been limping so bad for a year and a half that my Neurologist told me to use a cane.
So the tendon will heal hopefully on its own, otherwise I have to get surgery. The tendonosis will flare and I have to modify behavior accordingly to reduce that. I am looking into getting a recumbent exercise bike for the home gym since I am not cleared to use the elliptical trainer for a while.
So yeah, I have fibro. But I live a pretty active life and work ony feet so it's not always fibro!
Oh, y'all... Yinz... however you want me to say "you" collectively... (Ustedes? Ihr? Wy?)We might get a new fridge by Christmas. (Please support the needed infrastructure at our ports. If the recent backups at LA don't convince, consider that this is $$$ at stake, not politics, okay? Thank you. ) I was laughed at when I asked for a repair. "You fridge is over 10 years old!"... Apparently, 10...
