Sorry I haven't been adding much here lately. I've been having a hard time reading and writing. But I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about a situation I had with cognative testing.
In December I had a 4 hour cognative testing. Apparently, I still test as intelligent. I had a terrible time with coming up with the names of common objects. The tester has basically implied that I was faking. (Of course, I was not.) She also had the wrong diagnosis for me since she was using an old report. She talks about "vague symptoms," but my current diagnosis is Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease, which is an actual disease, not vague symptoms.
The problem is that my hearing before the judge is coming up for disability. I'm afraid that the way she is describing my test and illness is really going to hurt my case.
I wrote her a letter and included the most recent report from my rheumatologist and asked her to correct her report. No response. I don't know what to do from here if she refuses to update her report. And how on earth do I convince her I wasn't faking if that is what she thinks.
And of course everything is because of depression, which I didn't have but I'm starting to feel, and my medications which I've been taking since before I started having such a hard time with cognative stuff.
Any ideas will be welcomed.

When a test is given like the.one you took, it is up to the person giving it to determine the results. Medical records from a treating source is that treating sources determination of how they view the facts. Another professional may or may not agree after they gather their facts. The person that gave you the test is responsible for her opinion that is why she can't base her opinion on what others say, even if they are treating sources
Those tests gave to be determined based on when they are given, not after the person leaves. I should have explained it earlier and I apologize for not doing so. We have had non stop storms for days and days and now flooding. And the weather makes typing harder than usual and really increases my pain.
My non existant, fake brain fog is making it a little difficult to understand your last post.
So are you saying there is no point in me trying to inform her that she had the wrong diagnosis, and a lot of recommendations based on faulty information, I'm just stuck with it? I was sent to her by another memory center where I go more often. Will they be able to point out the problems? Or is that for the lawyer?

I just had similar testing done: I think that part of their eval. is to determine if a person is genuinely putting forth effort, as I assume some people do not.
You have done all that you can do, short of having the testing done by someone else. An attorney can help by disputing this person's opinion based on your other's doctor's assessment.
I do hear that it can take a few times before one is found eligible, but on the other hand some ppl go through quite quickly. The main thing is to be persistent, reapply right away, apply for emergency help if needed (i.e., through the state or city). It can be so hard dealing with this illness. I found the tests to be draining and somewhat humiliating when I realized my deficits. I really wonder why this person will not return your call since I assume that you and/ or your insurance paid for the testing. You may want to contact the office manager and explain how disappointed that you are that the tester has not responded to your calls. It is common for people to have many legitimate tests surrounding results. Again, this is where an attorney can help (i.e., by sending her a certified letter, which can be presented to the court--this is something you could do yourself). Hang in there. I also UCTD and it's a ****itch of an illness.. mine is Lupus-Like Illness, so of course there are many unfortunate cognitive and emotional symptoms. Good Luck and hang in there.
