The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I have been in the ER twice in last 2 weeks after having gallbladder surgery a month ago. All the ER will do is give me strong pain meds and send me home at this point. My CT scan does not show g.i. bleeding (how they can see that on a grey fuzzy xray is beyond me without actually going inside with a scopte). It also does not show aneurysm which seems to be the only two things they are concerned with on an emergency basis.
I guess being at a level 9 in pain does not qualify for emergency ! I believe it could be one of the following due to my symptoms: acute pancreatitis or crohn's/ulcerative colitis OR what last night's RUDE extremely awful doc thinks, severe i.b.s. That's akin to saying, "it's all in your head honey" F that...sorry to be so blunt...but I've had it with uncaring doctors at this point. I know and have heard many of us say time after time, "well doc, why don't you jump inside my body and then tell me my pain doesn't matter!!!"
I just need to be heard right now as I am feeling really unsupported by family and friends. I have been put in the crazy category as the doc in the hospital said..."you are all over the place...have a complicated history....it seems you have a lot of different symptoms" In other words...you're just freakin nuts. THAT is why I believe I am not being tested. I have crossed over and I KNOW, as I always do, that these mofo's will end up eating their words when I end up in emergency surgery like I have twice before and again before with my heart. I will scream and yell in pain until it gets so bad that, finally, some diagnostic test will show something severe enough and by that time it is at an acute stage. This is my story, the hamster wheel of uncaring doctors and nurses unwilling to be bothered and listened. Uncaring or unwilling to do their job until I get that lucky four leaf clover doctor that actually takes a look at things objectively and with consult with other doctors. I was lucky enough to have that happen a month ago when 3 doctors consulted each other to figure out I had acute choeleocystitis. They ran the right diagnostic to find my problem. They cared enough to look deeper. I don't know how to find that situation again while I am deeply suffering right now.
You are my peeps, and I am here asking to be supported and loved because I know it is a safeplace for me. I am lucky I found you all and lucky I do have my counselor on call to guide me. She is checking on me daily as I am about ready to go to psyche ward. I am beyond being told, "don't worry you're pretty little head". I am in a really vulnerable place in my head that I am trying desperately not to go to, "wouldn't it just be better if....." fill in the blank with worst case scenario. I need to be real somewhere, and this is my safe place for doing so. So, thank you for listening and caring. JP

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Prayers and support, JP. Wish I could puma-growl at them for you.
1. No urinalysis done
2. Stool sample she did while in last night, said no bleeding (one not done last time)
3. Red blood cell count and other anemia markers same as when I had acute choleocystitis
4. Liver enzymes told normal
5. Don't know about sugars
6. Meds taking are same, not aware of any side affects
So, if no g.i. bleed on ct with dye, then they won't run any additional tests?
i've had suspicions that i have pancreatitis for a couple years now. remember when i said it was my gallbladder a year ago. but anytime i say, i think's it this....theythink i am trying to do their job and become obstinent and unwilling to try and test for.
right now, my best medicine is watching a very funny movie called licensed to wed (omgosh i am crying in tears with laughter about the robo baby scene and changing diapers!!!!!)
with my dear robin williams (it makes me think of how he must have have fought so incredibly hard to overcome all his health issues and never hearing him complain....i really wish i could be more like this).
FYI, I am also deriving some kind of evil pleasure over billing the poo out of blue cross.....the ones that canceled me a year and a half ago for guess what? the exact same problems AND there was blood in my stool then. That was St. David's....so my plan of action is if my pain spirals, I go back there were they listen to me. I only went to the other named hospital because my cardio doc was there and over christmas thought i was having a heart attack. i was having an angina attack and eck abnormal but haven't had a chance to do stress test. they allowed me to have surgery because they thought my bloodwork looked okay....cardiac enzymes that is.
LEO, thank you for offering to puma growl at them ;)
AnnNY, thanks for somebody believing me!
Thank you for the support
Get well soon!
I know my dad's removal of gall bladder seemed to irk his pancreatic duct issues twice as much (actually, it's how we foudn out he had one), and yes, if they see no bleeding on CT-with-dye, they ignore.... well, a lot.
Prayers and purrs continue!
ok, i digress...anyway...2 weeks and i'll be able to make it until gastro doc with better meds they prescribed. very happy about that. nice doc :) from now on, i'll go to this hospital
I am glad you got some relief though.
