I am so overwhelmed with this fibro, it is not normally this bad on its own, usually its my fibro and my back bbut this time its just the fibro. My feet are swollen and painful form it so are my legs, my hands and fingers are swollen and everything hurt so severly nothing is touching it. I took the max im allowed and was told to do with my pain which is my neurontin which im on 4 times aday already but then my motrin 800mg, extra strength tylenol, oxycodone, and robaxin and nothing is touching it. Last 2 days i keep breaking down in tears from it. I even try staying under the covers, doesnt help much. I try to keep busy and cook and bake and i use a stool to sit on and it doesnt help. Please i need ideas and most of all hope......... Its never been to this extreme for just the fibro.

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

I know when I get bad bloat from PMS----and yes, this is the lamest ever comparison----- I like to chew raw parsley (curly leaf). It has trace minerals, but more imortantly, it's Nature's diuretic, and is very mild....
And ask teh doc if the meds are making you feel the pain. When we take meds, sometimes our bodies overcompensate in the other direction, and that effs us up. I'm not saying "skip pain meds", no no no! But I have epilepsy and neurons do crazy shi* if you mess with them, and neurontin is also used for epilepsy.
And if all you can do is pass out? Then pass out, Angela. Let your body go down and stay down. Elevate your upper body on a foam wedge for easier breathing, less acid reflux, etc., and consider using *ice* on certain parts. Or cold compresses, at least. That's all I can do sometimes for my post-injury stuff. Ice. So try wrapping cold wet cloths around your ankles, elevate your feet?
I'm outta ideas. And never assume it is "Just" the fibro, okay? Never assume that! We tend to do that and then don't find other problems right away.
Also, go ahead, be un-busy, and cry. You need it.
Thinking of you and now I am hungry from all of your cooking. :)
I have arthritis/injury stuff & when my fibro flares I get problems with swelling as well. Idk if it will work for you or ever had before but sometimes when my pain & swelling are outta control & the pain meds are having trouble touching the symptoms, I go to the doctor and they give me a toradol shot. Sometimes it helps a little with the swelling.
Sorry I'm probably responding way late. I'm praying for you. I hope at this moment you're doing okay.
