Keep up the warnings, you never know who you maybe helping.
Have a great weekend, J
I've been surprised to find it in: bread, toaster strudels, crackers, children's cold medicine, even my daughter's vitamins (boy, did THAT one piss me off!). What's worse is they're even trying to be deceptive by they're putting it under different names (just like MSG being called yeast extract).
It's getting harder to tell what has it and what doesn't. So, what I do is consider if the product is supposed to be sweet. If it is, and some sort of natural sugar name isn't apparent or the sugar grams seem to be too low, I assume it has some sort of artificial sweetener in it.
My father in law (whom I love dearly) only believed in drinking diet. He once saw my daughter drinking a soda. He said, "Do you know how much sugar is in that??" I said, "I would rather give her spoonfuls of sugar than the chemicals they put in your diet soda." It was only like 6 months later that he told me how bad he heard aspartame is for people and that he stopped buying anything with it in there.
I continue to be baffled by the attitude that if it doesn't immediately kill you that a substance is "okay". Arsenic takes time to harm or kill you, too, but hey, the FDA and others seem to grasp the problem with that. Why not with this crapola?
The way I see it if it's a chemical, sweetener, a preservative or something with "hydrogenated--" in it, you know our bodies weren't meant to digest it. Those chemicals get deposited in your muscles, organs and your brain... you may not wake up with a stroke the next morning but it's no wonder a few years down the road (could be 5, 10, or even 15) someone might get symptoms like MS or lupus, etc.
Funny how everyone advertises that so much sugar will lead to diabetes (which it will) but then they tell you to eat poison in stead! Like that's a better solution. I make sure I eat natural sugar but at low doses. I also substitute a lot of sugar with raw HONEY. Honey is good for you, why can't people be encouraged to eat that instead of chemicals? WHy can't Coca cola and Pepsi make sodas with honey?? I bet it would be a big hit.
