wow.... i look & feel like i came out of a violent bar fight!!
i have a friend here visiting from VA Beach for the 1st time (to Hawaii) so i have been playing the role of a tourist guide for over a week now. she has fibro, too, plus lupus, so on days we felt like shit, we just kicked back for the rest of the day.
anyways, we decided to go kayaking yesterday-- yes, you heard right, I said KAYAKING.... we couldn't help it, it was such a gorgeous day, bright blue waters, blue skies, flat ocean water, and breezy. so i figured why not? it was her last full day here anyway, and she really wanted to go (i own a kayak and go whenever i feel up to it).
i should have known to check on line about the wind reports. dummy me!!! it wasn't till we got out far enough from the shore that the wind picked up TREMENDOUSLY and + it was her 1st time kayaking = DISASTER!
to make a long story short, lets just say that kayak plus wind WON by a land slide!!! we didn't even have a chance. i mean it was really fun and hilarious getting tossed out of the kayak so many times, but the aftermath isn't so funny.
i can't count how many bruises are on me, not counting the nice welt on my head (above and around my eye) from the paddle flying up and back down onto my head! when we came back and showered up, we both had to put ice on our heads. i also iced my neck and shoulders.
today, i feel so BEAT UP, like i got my ass handed to me in a bar fight (me against the whole bar) and then came home to an abusive husband who kicked my ass! lol.
i feel a bad flare coming on and my skin is burning pretty bad... no, i don't have sun burn. and it hurts just to breath....
ok, i am gonna go lay down again in the AC! thanks for being there for me. i feel like an idiot.... oh did i mention that the ocean swallowed my $300 water proof cell phone?? yeah, it's gone, out in the deep blue yonder.... fish got it now.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
My biggest accomplishment today....mowed the lawn and did laundry! Whoo whoo. I'm so adventurous! I deserve my own reality show!
Take it easy hun. Just don't breath too hard and hurt yourself now.

would have rather been kayaking w/ you =glad you got to share so fun w/yourfriend even if you are both paying for it together -that is awhsome!
sorry you two are hurting but think you didn't miss out on the moment together for alife time!

yes it hurt but we had fun for the most part... i'm still paying for it, though. and maybe you are right about the wind burn.... it still burns, too! i should get some more ice to put on....
Wonder, if you made a reality show about your household chores, i would watch! lol
goodness, misunshine! you poor thing! glad you are in one piece after that!
about the phone, i wouldn't feel so bad about it if I had purchased it, but unfortunately, it was a gift from Matthew for X-mas. he bought me a samsung rugby bcuz my phones always break from me beating them up. and it was a plus that it's water proof, cuz i'm at the beach all the time. so now, i gotta buy one to replace it :(!!! and i don't know where i'm gonna get the money for that. i've tried getting water proof watches so i know when to take my meds but those got busted too.
yeah... i will have some awesome memories from her visit! i took her to the water fall too, which she LOVED!! you all should have been there! it was so amazing and RELAXING! once she sends me pics of the things we did, i'll post some of em.
