i've been reading some of your posts about fibro fog and D's disrspectful...........and it made me think of something that happened a short while back. this will probably seem in poor taste to some of you but then, someone might get a laugh out of it.
(please forgive if i've already posted this..........foggy ya know......LOL)
i've been my mother's caregiver since she had a stroke 3 yrs ago. i have more fun with her than anyone else i know. we'll get tickled at each other for some of the silliest things and laugh till we cry.
well, mornings are pretty busy with her. when she's gotta go, she's gotta go NOW! one especially busy morning she called to me "well, come on!" and i went running in to get her bedpan. IT WASN'T THERE!! i ran all over the house looking in places that even i wouldn't have put it in one of my fogs. she was lying there laughing hysterically, trying to tell me something (the stroke affected her speech) but i was frantically running back and forth saying, "I CAN'T FIND IT, WHERE DID I PUT IT??!!"
finally, she threw back her blankets and pointed .....still laughin, tears running down her cheeks. have you guessed yet? she was already on the darn thing!
now, tell the truth........would you want ME taking care of you??

OK, this should make you feel better.....I went to the doctor's office one morning...OB/GYN, just for a regular checkup, and they moved me from the first waiting room to the inner waiting room. The girl there (IDK if she was a nurse or not?) took my blood pressure....I wasn't really watching while she did it....but she said she got a funny reading. So she wanted to do it again.
OK, I said go ahead....same arm, pumps up the cuff. Now, you know with fibro, this is a bit uncomfortable. So I'm watching the cuff, not her, and she says "I'm still not getting a good reading....gotta do it again!" I say okaaayyyy..... THIRD time, I watch HER.....She starts listening with the stethascope......BUT THE EAR PIECES AREN'T IN HER EARS!!!!! I actually had to say "Don't you need to put those in your ears?" OMGosh, did she turn red....I hated to embarrass her, but my arm was KILLING ME!!
So, see, its not just us :) HUGS from down south :)
cajun, i bet your blood pressure was reading high when she finally got it! LOL
