I get these weird irritated areas on my skin that feel like there's an open wound or road rash. But there's nothing there. It feels like my skin is peeled back and exposed. Everything that comes into contact w it hurts, even air. It moves all around my body, usually the lower half like legs and feet. The other day was on my arm and now back on my leg. Sometimes, I get it on the bottoms of my feet and it hurts to walk or put socks on or for anything to touch. Everything feels like sand paper or cutting shreds of glass. I've seen 3 neurologists, and all of them look at me like I'm nuts. Then I get the "depression speech" and that "the mind can manifest bazaar things"! I hate neurologists! They can take their depression speech and shove it where the sun don't shine! I told them that if I'm depressed or have anger issues, it's because of them and all the other ignorant obtuse doctors I deal with. They are the problem! Does anyone else get these weird spots or feel that way about doctors, too?

Hi there. I see you have DDD also. It sounds like maybe some nerve type damage. it comes with fibro too. They have medication for that. have you been on any? Gabephentin or lycria. marilyn Good luck!

yes i do have that sometimes not so much when taking nerotin . and take lyicra now . i ger this wierd itch on fingers and thum sometimes. seems like the bone is itching and it wont stop until you scratch the skin off then they have to heal.

I get that on the tips of my fingers and toes. Didn't know it went with it! A doctor told me I have thick skin-and not as a compliment! A patient of mine said it feels like boils under the skin all over-kinda fits it perfectly!

I get the exact same thing with my fibro. I didn't know they had anything to do with each other though. It hurts sometimes for something as light as a feather to touch my skin.

You made me laugh - yes there's been a few doctors I'd like to have told to shove it too. I get it really bad on my left big toe - like someone has just cut the tip off it. Other spots come and go, but I get rashes that come and go too...grrrrr

I sure don't get those feelings on my skin but I have been getting hives with sun exsposure for the past 2 summers. Negative for Lupus by the docs testing anyways. Anyone else get that? BTW I'm Serena and i'm trying to figure this board out lol. I was recently diagnosed with Fibro(after self diagnosing) and after many years of mystery problems. I'm also hypothyroid due to removal of a tumor along with my thyroid.

Oh my God! I'm new and apparently I've had FM for some time and didn't know it. I've had those patches on my skin, they tripped my out when it did because there was NOTHING to cause it. I thought it was maybe a getting older issue so I ignored it. It just happens every so ofter and usually on my shins. So happy to find out I'm sane.

I get fibro related neuropathy.Also my diabetes makes yeast love my skin..I take Neurontin...that helps a little....I use natural oils on my skin a LOT...at the moment it is vitamin e and almond oil....mixed with a few drops of lavender...not just for smell but for it's healthy properties..though it is great aromatherapy it's been said it is healing just four or five drops of the natural stuff will do the trick...mmmm I smell so goood...It can be pricey but It's worth it...

I too can think of a NICE hot place to send a few Dr. I have known....and it won't be a vacation!!!

Ever since I read your post earlier and responded; I have been thinking back to all the times something happened to me that I didn't understand and so I just brushed it off. Well, I remember sometime back that after my shower when I was drying off, how the towel hurt so much. And I was like "what on earth", and of course now I know. My towels are nice and soft so I was like not getting it at all. I use baby oil. It never occured to me that there was lavendar oil, can you tell me where to find some? That would be so great. Thanx

April I don't know if I can tell you a specific co. here...but YoungLiving has lavender farms here in Idaho...that might be a tip.

I have this also. Not as bad now. My Dr. has me on Neurontin for nerve pain and it helps alot.

And yes, some Dr's are jerks!

My doc calls this PHN(chronic shingles) that falre just like fibro. He is guessing as always. I am going to ask him about neurotin I have b/t and have been on vicodin for three years might as well take two peanut M&M's. Let me know how it turns out hope you feel better.

I get this to its like the feeling you have the day after a new tattoo....I get it all over my upper back. When I first started on Lyrica it took care of it and it has not been back since.

and I think I would find a new doc this is a common symptom of FM or at least that is what the docs up here are saying.

For docs to be so smart they can be quite dumb with their lack of sensitivity and their less than intelligent remarks.
Ok, now that I have that off my chest LOL I have had that for many yrs but ignored it also. With me having the flu right now, my pain is at an all time high, and my skin sensitivity is more evident also.
