Some meds can do this to you; Lyrica, anti-depressants, etc. Check the side effects and see if mood swings are from your meds.
Having this condition is overwhelming and can cause depression. But if you are angry and can't control it there is something going on that you need to check out. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
Hope you feel better soon.
the cold, the darkness can cause depression....but I really get mad when its pms time
I just think night might be bad cause sometimes out days are just so long and exhausting.....enough is enough
Seasonal affective disorder, appropriately referred to by the acronym "S.A.D", is a form of depression that occurs only during certain periods of the year. In some cases, an existing depression may become more severe during certain times of year. By far the most common and recognized form of seasonal affective disorder is "winter depression". This is characterized by recurrent episodes of depressed mood, over-sleeping or the urge to "hibernate", cravings for carbohydrate rich foods, and associated overeating and weight gain. Symptoms typically begin to appear in September and don't abate until spring comes around at the end of March or beginning of April. Since winter depression is the most common form of seasonal affective disorder and the type that almost everyone is familiar with, we will be concentrating on this and for simplicity will refer to it as SAD.
Like all forms of depressive illness, SAD can vary greatly in severity and can be a severely debilitating condition. Many sufferers can be perfectly healthy during the spring and summer months but unable to function during the winter. This leads to obvious problems with work and family life.
Here we go again....I get upset and emotional when I feel exceptionally bad. I have no patience and tend to be irrational. Many times when get like this my teenagers will ask me if I'm in pain or exhausted. They will tell me to go lay down or take a break. They both know not to take it personally that it is just a bad day. When they tell me that I am being irrational, I try my hardest to not take how bad I feeling out on them.
It just seems so strange, I work so hard to stay calm. I practice meditation, yoga, prayer, positive affirmations. This anger, actually it is more like I lack any patience, it is just so out of character it catches me off guard.
SAD is something I should look into. Of course life has a cruel sense of humor sometimes, DH left the end of Sept, for work, to go to India. Returned for 12 days over Christmas/New Years. And is scheduled to return home in April.
I really hate having to deal with all this crap by myself. I just want to go to sleep and forget it exists. At times I feel like no one understands, I just cannot handle the stress. If I could deal with this kind of stress easily, I would still be working.
Sorry, my depression does seem worse lately. I hate telling the doctor I need to adjust my meds, Im already on the max dosage for Cymbalta, Lyrica 150mg nightly & pain meds. It always seems things get bad before we can find a good combination again.
I do take meds now for mood... it's been helpful!
Other than that, the combination of time of day, time of year, maybe time of month, full moon - all of those things may be contributing.
Hang in - these moods usually pass and some have given you some good suggestions to work with too.
They are sending me to a shrink for "depression" I told them i don't get sad i get mad...apparently chronic pain causes that and anger is often a form of depression...some of us just don't like being criers so we resort to anger instead.
No worries, just recognize it when it happens and remove yourself from the situation before you say or do something you will let regret. That's the only advice I can offer.
Maybe see if they would be willing to do some blood work - full panel. Thyriod, Hormones etc... But most important check your Cortisol level . Because you're so overwhelmed - too much to do in a day, stress etc... that at the end of the day when you get a chance to decompress just a bit and unwind... maybe you feel angry or irritated because your body is literally drained out of "fuel" (running on Cortisol) all day and now your adrenals are overtaxed and exhausted... (just a thought) ... maybe look up Cortisol / adrenals ... it might fit. Easy to test for and pretty easy to treat.
