I ended up severely anemic due to heavy periods caused by uterine fibroid but am doing better on an iron supplement. I also use enzymes to dissolve the fibroids and they seem to be working as I'm having a relatively light period for once in my life.
Since I'm still not in the 12-14 normal range, I'm still on the iron supplements.
My rheumy thought it was the heavy ibuprofen use that was making the polyp slowly bleed. He said if it wasn't that, then I'm just one of those people who are anemic without explaination, like a lot of women are since they have a monthly period.
Aside from extreme fatigue, I had no other symptoms. I have to say that with the iron supps and the polyp removal, my fatigue has improved a great deal.
I don't know what your ferritin lab values are, but mine came back at 3.1 in a range of 5 to 306. Obviously I wasn't even on the charts I was sooooo anemic. I don't remember what the other values were.
