I used to just be in pain a few times a month, but lately it seems to not be going away. Mostly in my neck, lower back, knees, and wrists. I have been on my meds (Celexa) for a week now. Still very nausea and having trouble sleeping at night. It seems to be making my mind scramble! Hopefully in a few weeks they will start to work, and I will be feeling better! Lots of weakness!
Anyone on an anti depressant.. How long did it take for it to start making you feel better? Did it also help with muscle weakness.

I have muscle weakness as well. My arm will get tired just brushing my teeth some days and my legs feel very weak climbing our stairs. I have taken Celexa in the past and also had trouble sleeping for the first few weeks. I take Cymbalta right now and had the same sleep trouble when I started. I actually went back to my Dr. and asked for something for sleep until I adjusted because it was getting to me. I took a sleep aid for about two weeks and then I was fine. I also felt "off" for a little while and my stomach was upset. Unfortunately Cymbalta did not help my muscle pain so we are still working on that. I hope it works out for you.

So did Celexa not help either? I am sorry to hear that you are feeling rough as well sounds a lot like me, even squeezing toothpaste on my tooth brush is hard sometimes. Hope you get feeling better

Sorry, forgot to mention that I took celexa years ago before Fibro. I did not have pain at the time. I was taking it for anxiety and panic attacks. Did your Dr. prescribe it specifically for Fibro pain?

Yeah specifically for fibro..

With me the pain would happen every so often then after I got pregnant with my last son I was never the same.

Hopefully you will get some relief after a few weeks. Do you have a follow up appointment? From what I understand it is trial and error with medication and many patients have to try a few different ones before they find something that works. Since Cymbalta did not work for muscle pain but helped with anxiety and sleep, my Dr. is trying to add something for pain. I tried Lyrica but couldn't stand the side effects. He then tried to add a muscle relaxer and that didn't work. Now I am trying something else. The process is frustrating but I am trying not to lose hope. I really hope you are feeling better soon and that your Dr. is following you closely. Another thing I have learned from reading and by my own experience is that there is no magic pill that brings you back to normal. The goal is to treat the symptoms and make you us as comfortable as possible. I've tried nearly everything on the list so soon I'll have to settle! Also, complimentary therapies like massage, acupuncture and warm water exercises may be helpful.

Yes follow up appointment in a few weeks, hoping to get some good results from these meds.

I actually started a very old med, elavil and was stunned how much it helps my leg and knee pain. Like with all anti's, it takes a while to get in your system (4-6 weeks), but I do live with less pain now. Wishing you the best!
