gosh... shit!!! pardon my french....
but, i'm am so DAMN ITCHY!!!! i'm losing my fucking mind! i've had this stupid darn rash that started out as a small spot near my arm pit on the chest... and now it's all over my fregggiiiin body! at 1st i thought it was an allergy to the soap i started using. so i switched back to my usual one. but that was almost 3 weeks ago, and it just spread like wild fire!
i showed my doc a few days before leaving to PA (left 2 Tuesdays ago and returned this past Tues) and she prescribed hydrocordazone cream. ya, it helps a bit. helped some go down but then others pop up in other areas with a damn vengeance! GRRRRR!!!!!
it's not shingles, cuz i know what those look like, and these are ALL over, not one side. it's not food allergies cuz there is nothing new in my diet. i've never had eczyma (sp?) and don't know what it's like or why i would get it Now.
i've tried all kinds of things. and my Neutrogena All in one Skin care didn't help either, and it usually numbs skin pain.
i am pretty much for the most part self controlled to not scratch em, but it seems they leave scars here and there, even if i don't scratch.
when my bf helps put the cream on, i have to ask him to rub softly, especially around the rib age, cuz you know how this fibro shit is! it HURTS!!! and i been getting the shooting Stabbing pain in my arm and leg, you know the ones that feel like an ice pick is being driven down, BUT i can't put heat on or a hot bath cuz it makes the HIVES ITCH MORE!!!! AAARRRHHHGG!!!! SHIT!!! DAMN IT!!!

That could be it, if you did.
Oh wait, I see that you had this before you went on your trip, so, most likely that isn't it, or perhaps, the Cymbalta made it worse.
Time for a visit to the doctor, I would think. Sometimes, taking antihistimine can help with the itching. Of course, I don't know how it may react with other meds you may be on, so if I were you, I would research that before trying the antihistimine.

A few years ago I had an allergic reaction to an elastoplast and afting about 7 different lotions and potions from my Dr Someone reccomended aloe vera gel for the itching, I have to say I though they were daft when the stuff from a doc wouldn't work why would aloe vera? Anyway I got so desperate that I went and got some from a herbal shop and it soothed the itching straight away.
In fact this stuff worked so well I now have the plant in my kitchen and use it for any itches bites or burns. I reccomended it for someone else here and it really helped them out so I hope it helps you to, as its natural you can still use stuff from Dr but within 2 days it cleared up my allergy!

If so stop taking it and take some benedryl until you figure out what the problem is.
What you're describing sounds exactly like shingles - the combination of pain and itching, along with the blisters, describes perfectly my experience.
I hope you find a solution soon - you must be miserable!
It's Spring. Are things blooming where you live?
How long has it been since you saw your doctor? You might go back and have him look a little harder or refer you to a dermatologist.
I hope you get it resolved soon.
