I'm kind of new to all of this (CMP/fibro, whatever this is that I have), and have been doing a lot of googling for info, since out of the many doctors and other health care "professionals" I've gone to, no one can ever give me any answers. Anyway, I found this article about the burning sensation that people with fibro (and other neuromuscular issues) get:

I'm sure many of you already knew about this, but maybe some don't (I didn't), so I wanted to share. You have to scroll down a little to get to the article.
Also, thanks for letting me vent a little. I am just so frickin' sick of spending all of my money (entire savings, 401K, etc.) to get some help for any of my symptoms, and I never get anywhere. Every single doctor or PT or massage therapist I've been to has either been completely incompetent or just doesn't give a crap. I flat out tell them, "MY MUSCLES ARE EXTREMELY TIGHT. I NEED THEM TO BE RELAXED," or "PLEASE MASSAGE RIGHT HERE; THIS IS WHERE I HURT; THIS MUSCLE IS TIGHT AND IS IMPINGING MY NERVE. I HAVE SEVERE NERVE PAIN BECAUSE OF IT." I can't be anymore plain (and, yes, I do tell them in a nice manner). They all act like they are above treating me. I know that there are very caring health professionals out there, because I've heard it from this site. I just can't seem to find them. And, yes, I'm going to say it, I do think I would get better treatment if I weren't a woman. I had my boyfriend go with me to a doctor appointment, and this doctor usually just does the bare minimum, but with my boyfriend there, he was suddenly Mr. Helpful giving me tips about what vitamins I should take and acting like he cares and everything.
Okay, thanks again for letting me vent. I feel much better now.

I really hate to say this, but as a man with FM, I *wish* you were right about the gender bias, but from my experience, it goes the other way. I've literally spent years trying to convince doctors that I was not making up the pain to get them to give me rx meds. I even had one doctor call me a liar to my face, in front of the nurse.
It took finding a compassionate (and female) doctor before I was finally dx'ed and started getting treatment.
You've got to keep shopping till you find the right doctor.
All these spots/I have myofascial pain and it seems to be SPREADING! now, new symptoms are popping up with perimenopause and I can't pay to go to the doctor each time either.
Dr. bills bankrupt us fibro's when we can't work!

It really feels to me as if "the Man" is saying well, why don't you just jump off of a building? Only that's against the law.
This is somehow all my fault. I get rear-ended hard in an accident by someone who wasn't paying attention to the road. I am unable to work. Medical professionals don't want to or are not capable of helping, and meanwhile I am using up my entire savings and 401K (small settlement was exhausted long ago) on living expenses and medical expenses while not able to work. I'm pretty much screwed. Not allowed to.. ummmm....escape my life (not saying I'm trying to; just making a point, here). Sorry, but something is realy f&$*ed up here.
Okay, NOW, I feel like I've vented. Thanks, again, all. You guys are really the best. The support and compassion here should be a model for the rest of this sick world. Sorry, I know this sounds dramatic.
I'm sorry for what you are going through. I'm so sorry that you have to pay so much for your insurance and that you don't seem to be getting much help from your docs. Hopefully, you can find a doctor who knows what he/she is doing and in the first place, understands fibro and treats you with respect. Isn't this group great. It is such a relief to know that there is a place where we can come to vent and get support from people who understand what we are going through.
