Does any have any experience of or advice regarding pregnancy with FMS? Up until now I couldn't have even contemplated carrying a child but now medication is helping and I am desperate for a family. I'm scared though, will it set me back to square one? How will my body cope? Do I have the strength to get through this? Will I have to come of the meds and how do I deal with that? My head is in a spin. My life suddenly seems worth living again, I can cope with day to day life and so I want to make the most of it but what if I make a decision that brings it all crashing down around me again?

You may not be able to continue the meds while you're pregnant. It will depend on your OB.

I wasn't yet on any meds when I had both my children but my pain wasn't as bad when I was pregnant, I didn't even have my chronic migraines. Hormone levels change so much it actually helped me and I was pretty much pain free until 2nd one was 6 months old. Kids are very close in age. I would talk with your doctor to see what they have to say. Good luck on a most enjoyable adventure!

I was wondering about this question my self (now that I'm married)..... But before I got on medications I was in really bad shape. Bed ridden a lot, flaring a lot, etc. My docs told me I would have to get off most of my meds if I wanted to get pregnant. That thought alone scares the crap out of me and I just figured I would go get my tubes tied and maybe we can just adopt one day. But that's just me. I have a lot of fears about it. I don't want to go back to the way thins were I guess.

so following this I am new to the boards but this jumped out at me. I am engaged and he has asked about the possibity of having another baby. He would like a boy however he makes girls so there is that to consider but I am not sure at 42 and starting to have flares more often (just started meds in the last couple months and pain has gotten better). Just not sure how I could cope with it.

I would get off the meds before I even started trying..many women get emissions in pregnancy.
