I have no idea what lortab is...but my guess would be once you can get the pain levels down a bit the Fatigue backs off as well...

I Know when I am in a Fair amount of Pain, I don't sleep well...Once I get the Pain to back off...I simply Feel better all the way around...

Thanks, Dakota....Lortab is a pain med....had a couple left over after surgery....use them for really bad fibro pain, or migraine. Just a surprise that they seem to give me a bit of energy....

PS Don't you work too hard on that move!!!

Have yo discussed with your dr. if you have both FM and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Many of us do suffer from both they are very similar .

Yea, I asked the rheumy about CFS....she said no, just fibro....I dunno....I do have fibro pain, it just doesn't sound nearly as bad as some folks here have....mine is more the crushing fatigue and numbness....the pain feels like muscle spasms and strains....

I don't understand.....my rheumy tells me that you can have CFS and not have Fibro.....BUT if you have Fibro , the CFS is an integral part of it.
As for myself , IF I can get the pain under control , I have more energy.I have never tried Lortab , but have seen that quite a few of us do take it. I will ask my doc about it , my rhemy is not crazy about Rx'ing pain meds , but my Ortho doc is a little more sympathetic....thank God...cuz this is where most of my pain originates....I think???? Hard to differentiate..........

That is kind of weird because Lortab, being a pain reliever, should make you sleepy, I would think? But if it works ask your doctor if she'll prescribe it for your pain. I don't understand the connection of CFS+FMS. I mean, I do see where we would be tired with Fibro and that could be considered CFS. Maybe depending on the degree of fatigue? Is there pain with CFS?

I don't quite get the connection between CFS and FMS either....I don't have the sore throat and a couple of other CFS symptoms....but the fatigue I have is the bone crushing, weighed down with concrete kind sometimes....who knows, right??

I do get a bit sleepy taking the Lortab, but STILL feel more like getting up and around than without it....go figure. Of course, not too much in my body makes sense! LOL

Lortab is another trade name for Vicodin - generic is hydrocodone. FYI the FDA advisory committee has voted to ban Vicodin and Percocet and I'm glad I refilled my prescription yesterday, as who knows if I'll ever be able to get more.

I agree with the theory that getting the pain under control gives us more energy. It's very stressful on both mind and body to be in pain.

For those who pray, pray the FDA only decides to do a "black box" warning so that those of us who find this drug helpful and take it responsibly can continue to have the relief from pain that it gives us.

I take a vicoden every morning when I get up along with my Lexapro.If I don't take it I won't get moving.Then the rest of the day I judge weather I need more or not.Somedays I go all day without a pain pill,somedays I take them more.I know it settles down my pain so I'm able to function better so I always take one right away in the A.M.

ah geez; when is the ban set to take place? I've been walking about with a script in my purse now since March!!!
I take it if/when I feel really, really bad. It doesn't help with the fatigue for me...it puts me out.
Darvocet is the only script med I can take during the day that doesn't make me sleepy.

I read in the "Fibromyalgia for Dummies" book that Usually if your number 1 complaint is fatigue, then you have CFS; and if your number 1 complaint is pain, then you have FM. It said it's a little tricky to tell when you have both because your number 1 complaint changes.

Interesting, ness...and I agree, tricky to make that call....maybe I talk to the doc again, although I guess it wouldn't change anything.....

pain makes you very tired or "run down".... it's always been that way, so probably if you get the pain down your body may "recover" a bit? at least that's what i'm guessing.

Honestly, I don't believe even most doctors are sure about the connection between CFS and FM. I've heard a lot of different (and even contradictory) theories. Personally, I just figure it is what it is - I'm in pain and I'm exhausted.
