Hello to All. I was just recently diagnosed after about two years of miserable. Like everyone else, I am having trouble finding a good doctor and I have absolutely no one in my life to help me with this. I am an introvert so I don't like talking to people about my feelings and I'm very stubborn and I try very VERY hard to hide my pain and fatigue (which probably does nothing but make things worse because you can't see how bad it is). Anyway, I am just here to hopefully find some people who understand what I am going through and to let you all know that I understand how you feel too. I have been putting on a show for two years now, even when I feel my worst, and I fear that it won't be long until I can't do that anymore. It is so very frustrating not to have anyone in my life who understands.I am such a good actress that 99% of the people in my life have no clue what I"m going through, and now that I've been diagnosed I feel like they wont take me seriously when I tell them. Has anyone experienced this? How do you tell the people closest to you about your "issues"?
Thanks in advance to everyone!!!

I would recommend reading the book, Fibromyalgia for Dummies....very informative in an interesting format. The more you know about this disorder, I think helps. I hope you have a good doctor who is willing to work with you. Treatment is a trial and error journey. But hang in there, because there are meds and combinations of meds that can ease your symptoms. If the newer meds don't work for you, do your research here under treatments and discuss with your doctor some of the older meds. They work just as well or better than the latest thing for fibro many times.
Come here often and vent or ask questions. We are glad to help!
Hugs,
Elizabeth
