Today has been a very painful day for me regarding fibromyalgia status. I felt as though I was doing better with the pain and symptoms, then WHAM, it smacks me in the face and plows me down. This is frustrating for me and at times, I just want to give up. I feel like I fighting a losing battle with the pain and symptoms I am experiencing. My current treatment consists of Zoloft, Ibuprophen and Tramadol. Xanax as needed. I use Aspercream also. I use warm, moist heat as needed too which has been a continual thing for the past 2 weeks. Is this ever going to let up? My knees, legs and feet are the worst areas for me right now.
Does anyone have any helpful advice on home treatments I can use in addition to my current regimen?

Have you tried a tens machine for pain relief? I don't know if it will help for the leg pain, but we find it works well for some of the back and neck pain.
That being said, I am wondering why you take Ibuprofen as part of your treatment plan. Fibromyalgia is a disorder of the central nervous system. Ibuprofen is not a medication that is effective for that type of pain. The three primary medications used are Cymbalta, Savella and Lyrica. And a cheaper and old school option is Gabapentin. Muscle relaxers can also be useful.
If you don't already have it, purchase the book "Fibromyalgia for Dummies." Like all of the dummies series, it contains easy to understand information about this complex illness. You can purchase it online at Amazon. It will give you a good overview of Fibromyalgia and a myriad of ways to try and manage it. Knowledge is power.
Keep your chin up. You are not alone. Take care.
I take warm Epsom salt baths
Massage therapy once or twice a month
Heating pad and blanket
Meditation music to relax too
Have to pace myself and don't over do it
Rub with Bio-Freeze
I've been taken Cymbalta for two years now and it has really helped me. I use to take Zoloft for years, put it just don't help pain like Cymbalta does. I do have Rx pain pills to take when I have a bad flare.
Hope you start feeling better soon.
