Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
One of the most important changes that I made was changing my diet. I follow the paleo diet, but started with an anti-candida diet which is very similar to paleo and is designed to kill yeast overgrowth in the intestines. I also took a course of anti-fungals under doctor supervision to help kill the candida and products to restore and balance gut health.
There is a book called: The Fungus Link written by Doug Kaufman in which he discusses the link between chronic health problems and fungus. I follow the phase one diet in his book. He has a television show and his website is called: know the cause.
I have a post on my blog that briefly discusses candida overgrowth. Changing my diet was key to improving my symptoms. The diet must be followed strictly in order to see results.
I also work with integrative medical doctors. They are regular medical doctors trained in narural medicine. They work to find the underlying cause of illnesses and treat the whole body with multifaceted therapies. My doctor has a special interest in treating chronic pain and her clinic has helped many with chronic pain improve.
Aside from diet the following are an important part of my regimen: vitamin d3 supplements, anti inflammatory supplements, probiotics, body work (massages, acupuncture), heat therapy (heated blankets, hot Epsom salt soaks, whirl pools, etc), aqua therapy, pacing activities, medicinal marijuana for pain, flares, and stiffness.
I'm still trying to get the sleep issue under control. I still wake up unrefreshed every morning. Best Wishes to you! You can message me anytime.
