i've been away from here for quite awhile and decided to check in the other day. i see alot of new people and don't see many of the ones that used to post on here daily. anyway, i thought i'd repost a story that just might give you a chuckle or two.
this is a true story and needs just a little setup. my SIL is very hard hearing and pretty ditsy. ya know, easy to play a practical joke on. but, honestly, this was all purely accidental.
we were running late getting home one day and she was afraid the school bus was gonna beat us getting home so we stopped at a little mall beside the highway to call for someone to be there when her daughter got off the bus. i just pulled my pickup truck up next to the sidewalk straight across from the payphone. (maybe a 10-12 ft distance). it was cold and there was alot of noise from the highway so my SIL had her back to me . in the meantime, a huge garbage truck pulled up behind me and made me move so he could do his thing. i tried blowing the horn so she could see which direction i was going in the parking lot but she didn't turn around.
i went a couple rows over in the parking lot but was sitting in plain sight if only she'd look around. i watched as she hung up the phone, ran the short distance across the sidewalk and CLIMBED UP THE STEPS of the garbage truck and got 3/4 of the way into the cab ! through tears of hysterical laughter i watched her fly down the steps, run around the front of the garbage truck, and run head down, arms and legs pumping , for all she was worth through the parking lot !! luckily, she just happened to be running toward me.
when she got in my truck she was screaming mad, "why did you do that to me ?!!!" i asked her "didn't you think it was kinda strange CLIMBING UP STEPS to get into my truck?"
when i caught my breath long enough to talk i asked what the driver of the garbage truck said when she climbed in. she said he had a big grin and said, "well, helloooo baby!"
without a doubt, the funniest thing i've ever seen.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I was driving to school just as the Sun was rising, and I thought I saw a spider in the trees. it look like it was about to get on my car, and scared me, so I hit the brakes. it turned out that there were two tree branches, one behind the other, that made it look like a spider what's hanging by a piece of the web. the funny thing is this "spider" if it had been a real spider, would have been at least the size of my head!
I haven't been that scared of a spider in years, my heart took a few minutes to get back to normal, lol! Thankfully, no crashing into the dairies I was driving through!
