Holy Crap! - no pun intended LOL I had terrible side effects w it, including 6 weeks of diarrhea. Ew ;o) But it didn't help with my pain one bit. I lost weight and had insomnia 10x worse than usual.
I hear it works well for some, and I hope it does for you! Since everyone is different, it may turn out to be a blessing for you. But it def was not for me!!

After that, you really need to give it a chance. Now once you have, if it didn't work, compare notes then.
If you don't believe me, take a look at the number of facilities that now acknowledge mind-body medicine as being integral in treatment of certain diseases like Cancer. That is because your mind is a powerful organ and if it is thinking, this won't work, it won't.
This disease is awful and you shouldn't do anything that could negatively impact any chance for relief.
Good luck to you and give it a chance!! You have to stay positive to and try anything in order to beat the illness.
Some people stay sick because they want to and don't give any treatment a chance. Don't be one of those people. Fight!! We're here to fight with you!! ;-)
I have been on Cymbalta for close to four years. It has been a tremendous help for me with reletively few side effects. That being said I also suffer from depression so what helps one illness will help the other. For me they go hand in hand.
Good luck finding a treatment that works to help you fight this painful world of FM.

It's so weird, at least for me, that Cymbalta is used for Fibro. I've taken Cymbalta for 3 years at 120mg a day for Panic & Anxiety. It's really a anti-depression medicine that they are finding, like with many drugs, helps for other illnesses as well. All I know is I was diagnosed with Fibro while taking Cymbalta so I'm not really a person who could say it helps me. It does help my Panic Attacks because I have not had 1 Panic Attack while taking it.
***But we all are different and Cymbalta helps a lot of people. I'll agree with "Exhausted" and add, "Go into every treatment as if it's the answer to your problem."***
Nothing is stronger than positive thinking, at least I believe that.
PLEASE keep up updated on your progress!!
